PGLS Ryder Cup

Post by Mwh65 » Mon Jul 02, 2018 9:27 am

Sign-up to the PGLS Ryder Cup is now open

MEMBER SIGN UP AREA - Click here to register your interest

Players who wish to take part must of been a member of PGLS for 3 months from the start of the PGLS Ryder Cup and completed rounds in at least one of the PGA 9, PGA 18, PG Classics or PGLS Open tournies to be considered for inclusion in the 12 players and any subs.

To be included in any team, you must sign-up - do NOT expect that not doing so will lead to your inclusion in the event. Signing up is no guarantee of a place on the team, but will give your Ryder Cup captain an idea of players he will want to assess in trials ahead of the event.

During this stage we need to find Captains for both teams. If anyone is interested in doing so please read the Captains / Vice Captains section of the rules to make sure you are happy doing so, sign-up as above then reply to this topic stating your intentions.

A full set of rules can be found for players and would be Captains / Vice Captains ...

Signing up to the PGLS Ryder Cup will close on 18th August. After this time the Captains from both teams can then choose their Vice-Captains (Maximum 2).

The course used will be revealed at a later date. Conditions for the 3 formats will only be revealed on the day the PGLS Ryder Cup starts which will be the 1st September 2018.

After two years of planning, a summer of sign-ups, a Septemebr of scheduling and three weeks of intense competition, it is our pleasure to congratulate TEAM INTERNATIONAL, lead by captain Altaedm (Ian) on their victory over TEAM USA in the PGLS Ryder Cup 2018.

Each and every match has been played in a true spirit of sportsmanship and intense competition - always fairly and in good spirits, with new friendships and acquaintances formed and with each and every player having just cause to congratulate themselves on their own personal contribution to what has been a great event.

PGLS must thank all those who have played a part on steering the event through, from both team captains, Ian and Gordy (TEXASAces) who have show great skill and diplomacy in keeping their teams informed, well-briefed, and fired up for competition. Both captains have been extrordinary in their dedication, and I know would both like to thank their own teams of vice-captains and staff for their support throughout.

PGLS would also like to thank the players themselves for stepping back from the week-to-week business of being the best they can be individually to take on this unique team challenge, and to become a team in what is so often a individual sport.

Lastly, PGLS would like to thank those who have made this happen, including Mark (Mwh65) whose brilliant work makes this all run so smoothly. Bernabao for his excellent course design which we were given early access to and for taking notice of us when we pointed out issues needing to be addressed. Lastly, but certainly not least, thanks to all who have supported the players in our Meet & Greet chatrooms as well as in our streamed matches. You make the event what it is.

The remaining matches will be played out, as this is all about pride, competition and what the event itself means... friendship and competition between friends across the water.

Many thanks again to all involved,

PGLS Ryder Cup Referee
