I personally find this event refreshing and even tho I have no chance to win the goal is to at least get to the 2nd round and then the next which I find more interesting than playing four rounds guaranteed. What I would really like to see is the PGA18 go to a cut event after two rounds with the top 67% or so moving on to the final two rounds each week sort of like the old cut tournaments we used to have at links at the Harbor Club. If you do a cut then players have something to shoot for each week and if you make the cut then you will more than likely play all four rounds. Yes the same people might win each week but hey it gives the rest of us something to shoot for. Just my 2 cents.
I dont mind that idea at all but it does cut the amount of rounds for some players.

Half the field doesn't finish anyway and the ones that do are probably going to make the cut anyway. It's the PGA 18 that follows the PGA Tour and they have a cut so why not us. Just trying to add a little excitement to the event.

some good players only just scraped through the 1st round last night...could be a big cut in round 2!!

Yes I would agree with your comments Affo. I can shoot some average rounds and then suddenly have a really good round. So it's all on the day and besides I think the whole concept of this tourney is great, Makes you challenge yourself to get better and progress further.

Shot even in Rd 2 and won't advance but great fun. I missed a couple easy putts out there that were my undoing but that is golf and look forward to next one. My play is getting better with controller tho and no longer fight big hook but miss both ways and more push or pull and not as drastic as before but not hitting enough greens yet to compete to get much farther than 2nd round. The beauty of the format is that it forces you to get better to advance and that I like and why I really would like to see PGA18 go to a cut event. Great New event and much appreciated.

Thank you. While i'll take the credit for the idea/format, Mark's' obviously the man who turns it into reality...so he should take the credit.
Like the Divisions, I come up with something and then hand over to Mark and say "Can this be done?" and the magic is done.
These newer events were put on as they are a bit more "open" and on a more personal level of can I make that cut?, or get promotion?, avoid relegation with a good final round? rather than looking at the leaderboard and believing the top spots are unobtainable.
Nice to see the participation so far. It is a fortnightly event, so next one starts on Weds 9th October.
Also great to see that even 6 months in, the Division period are getting 80 plus scores posted still, thanks everyone for supporting these different type of events.
