Having read all the coments regarding this course and everyones experiences, I can luck back with relief. I had all my problems on round 1 which included a 9 on hole 10. After that it was very much plain sailing. I even ended R2 -3. Hole 18 was no problem, out of the 4 rounds 3 of them I scored par and 1 scored a bogey. I actually enjoyed the challenge of playing here. Well done to the setter it could have been much different

Absolutely love this game but hope to never play this course again. However having said that full praise to those with the skill to design these courses - I wish I had their talent - just not one of my favorites.

Again it's Oakmont and PGA players will tell you it's the hardest course in the world when playing tough so not surprised the bad press it's getting here but again it's all about the greens. Look at the bright side as it's been restored to its original look as all the trees have been removed and before that it was even harder as you had the trees to navigate. Walk this course in real life one time and you will understand why it's so difficult and I find it refreshing we are seeing scores higher on it and not even having to trick it up as a 14 Stimp and hard and 80 would have been a good score.

Well I played round 2 to see for myself and was putting for birdie on #1 and #18 and five putted both holes for a pair of 7's. Lol. The greens are brutal but again we all play the same pins and this is how the course plays in real life and probably harder so its fair IMO. Got to say I had 36 putts on the way to a 75 and there are birdies out there as I had six but you have to put the ball in the right place. Tough but kind of fun in a sick way.

I agree, however, as a new player, with the lack of tutorials, etc., I'm having a hard time finding where that is, before I hit the shot. I play PRO level, and cannot use the F2 or F3 to aim, I do use them to examine the green before the shot, but the BLI is a teeny tiny white line as you run it around the green to see where the breaks are. Then when you actually get to the green, you are faced with putts breaking 20 feet or more. What can I do to see that, in advance?

I have to agree with you there and I will say this is the part that TGC 2019 got right as you can zoom right down to the green and see everything and it's much more combersome in JNPG to do tho I know there is a free cam you can use but I never use it due to being hard to use. I try not to short side myself on courses like Oakmont as if you do it's impossible to get it close. This is one of those courses that sometimes a 20 ft putt is much easier than a 4 ft putt which is crazy but why it's so hard.
