I meant no harm to anyone. If you are compromised, then I am sorry to hear that. There is no joke in that.
That said, there is mass hysteria taking place with respect to cronavirus and that is where the silliness is.
I guess I will keep it to just Perfect Golf discussion.

I will apologize if anyone took offense...but I won't apologize for not letting the virus kill my sense of humor, and by default, not apologize for the comment. Humor is the best defense against a crappy situation...it keeps the spirits up. I too am at elevated risk, 58 year old smoker with diminished respiratory capabilities. I chose to laugh in the face of this crisis rather than get all wound up with worry. So again, out of respect, I will leave my humor out of here...but I refuse to lose it all together.

I think a very large portion of our golf community here is in the over 60 age group with complications (cancer myself). Humor is how I've always dealt with stuff like this. I don't think JSpirate meant anything nefarious. I thought his comment was timely with all the sports shutdowns and travel travel restrictions going on. I'm looking forward to my forced 2 week sequester (work from home) - maybe I'll have time to finish that darn CAREER Mod.
ps - I've started my vacation with a nice bottle of wine and the 2011 movie Contagion. Eerie how the movie track with what we see in the news. If things get real bad and we have to revert to cannibalism, I'm screwed - I just started a new vegan diet. I'm afraid I'll starve. On the plus side, I have plenty of TP.
pps - another good movie with the same theme is "Perfect Sense".

Nice "The Stand" reference...Great book, and a not-to-shabby 1994 TV Mini-Series with Gary Sinise among other top name actors for that time.

Did they actually attempt to make a film out of that? I always was kind of hoping but figured there was no way to do it justice.

Yes they did, and they actually did a decent job of it. It is a four part mini-series...so 8-ish hours long. Screenplay was by the man himself...Stephen King.
