A breakdown of the swing types as shown already on the PGA 18 leaderboard page will be extended to include PGA 9, Stableford 9, PG Classics and PGLS Open.
Nice one Mark.

Great news and I return home Sunday and look forward to playing events again using my controller. Look for me near the bottom but I will be having fun playing this game once again.

I'm sure it's around here in the forum somewhere but can anyone post the cheat setups you use with a controller? I can't wait to shoot -16 or so every round.

Great news!
I’ve never participated here, and don’t even know where to start, but I’ll try to participate moving forward now that RTS-C is back

Do some searching, go ahead and you can be banned. Check Mark's post above, you will be able to look at a leaderboard with just your chosen mode of swing so you can then not see what the controllers are doing and not worry about them, happy days!

i do it all the time keeps me from having to move my golfer to line them short putts up.lol
next that will be called cheating.
this post has gotten very boring, by the vote looks like the controller will be back in the tourneys
welcome back to all the controller players!!!

As do I, Dave. I always push/pull putts by missing the snap on purpose on short putts. I also use the push/pull to counter the wind or if I am on a dog-leg. This has never been considered a cheat in 3C (three click). Quite frankly, it's another finely honed skill for 3C users. This ability takes thousands of hours of 3C experience to become a so called expert at it. Experts still never shoot a perfect game regardless of their chosen swing type.

The leaderboard shows me at #6 in the more recent PGA 9. My goal is to reach the top 10 on the leaderboard BUT. I only strive for that goal when the mood strikes me. I know other players take much longer time calculating each shot, and that's smart if you want to get a shot at #1. Personally, slower pace is not my cup of tea. I like to look, shoot, hope for some good luck and be done with a shot within 10 seconds. The fun and excitement of watching the ball in-flight is the delight for me; how it bounces, rolls and crawls towards the hole. That's good drama for me.

The snip (Windows Snipping Tool - A great Windows 7 and 10 feature) of this leaderboard shows the top ten positions. Sometimes I am in the top 20 positions. It's not a brag fest. If I were #1 I would definitely toot my own horn. I am rarely in the top 1 to 5 positions. (Aim and fire and hope for the best) - that's my golf credo :byebye:

FYI for those who have never used 3C. Push/Pull is deliberately clicking the third click early or late. Early means the ball is pulled towards the left and a late snap (push) means it will roll towards the right of the hole.

In long drives or long iron shorts, push/pull can be used to fade or draw the ball. However, in doing so, the player has to calculate a loss of power and elevation on the ball flight due to the inaccurate snap (bottom of meter). When the wind is really strong I will use the Shot Shaper gizmo in the game. That's the smart way for anyone with any swing method to impart spins or lower/raise the elevation of the ball trajectory.

Nothing is easy in this game if a player does not practice*. We who practice can shoot a shot within seconds of looking at the lie and breeze/wind. We already know the stimp and fairway speeds because we make sure to check all the settings before starting a round.

There are so many strategies to virtual golf. Using a more powerful club than the shot calls for to make sure you don't have to go past the 12 on the meter. This particular strategy can be used in all swing methods. IMHO it's better to use more club than needed to get roll-out or counter backspin on the greens.

Learning three click takes a long time but it is (in my book) the least cumbersome and best method to play Virtual Golf when sitting at a computer station about two or three feet from the monitor.

To finalize my last comment in this topic. Congrats again to the Controller Users and welcome back to the game! :good:

* this mostly applies to very competive players

Leegolfer I really believe I understand more than some what your saying as I truly have played every swing in this game quite a bit and in tournaments. There was a period that I played a few tournaments with a different swing each round and it's probably why I have not mastered any of them but it's my way of challenging myself. Even tho the controller is back I will still play some events with RTSM, MS and 3C and the PGA18 with the controller. Mastering the face and draw by missing the Mark is not easy and difficult and those who don't play 3C have a hard time figuring that out. Also those who don't play the other swings don't understand them either. I have no hate for any particular swing but I can't deny I have pushed hard to bring the controller back and also know those who value the swing and the challenge will not attempt to cheat. We are one community and need to appreciate what each brings to it and those guys at the top of 3C have worked to prefect their skill and hats off to them. I really wish more would at least to to the range and try the other swings just to see what they have to offer but understand why a lot don't. To all swings I say cheers

Until such an event occurs, just carry on playing looking at your personal "frenemies" on the leaderboards (if you still look at them) and all is good in the world.
Are you serious? So if someone new just happens to post a good score ahead of you, you smell a rat? I have only started to play in tournaments a month or so ago and see the same 2 or 3 players at the top, tournament after tournament... Would you really be that upset if you did not come in first place.. maybe every once in a while??
Think you've gone a bit too literal there. As per another post (trying reading further), everyone's scores are obviously recorded, I was just stating an example that IF anyone were to suddenly shoot amazing scores with no history, or gone from average to amazing, then obviously the scores are just shall we say, kept an eye on for the integrity of all, not just myself. Jees, some people.

I really couldn't give a monkeys if i'm not at the top, in fact I like to congratulate people when they have scored very well in an event, I just try to be at the top.....it's called competing..some like to, some play for fun, but I don't cry cheat if i'm not.
Alright, alright.. just asking/wondering... it's all good.

Just to clarify; I tried two controllers, the Xbox 360 and the Steam controllers a year or two ago and neither were my cup of tea. I still pick the 360 up here and there but just too much going on to hit a shot.

I use a simple Logitech G Pro mouse with straight out of the box settings. :good:
IMHO the best mouse would be the Logitech G5. The G5 has been discontinued for as they say a better one :cheesy: . I paid somewhere in the $30 range for the G5's I have and now to find one you will be paying in excess of $300 for one. So much for their better ones

I also voted for the controllers; simple reason everyone should be able to play their desired style. Each to their own. :good:

Good luck to all :drinks:
