Thanks Mark. That URL to the three courses in question (P2P) was nicely explained.

Cheers :drinks:

Went to run the course checker today and it will not launch. Other executable files launch with no issues. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!

Just an FYI for anyone running or switching to Linux, I was able to use the Course Checker Utility v1.12 in Linux Mint (Cinnamon desktop environment) using 'wine'. I believe this is using the default wine prefix in Linux Mint, so no real setup of that, per se, just install wine from your package manager.
EDIT: I forgot to note that I first had to run the program from the terminal using the command below, then I could just double-click it from the folder

Code: Select all

wine "~/Downloads/PGLS PG Course Checker.exe"
The course checker works for me, even though the graphics didn't show show up in the window (see screen shot below). Also, I had to change the path for PG Courses to where Steam installs the game, just as you would if PG was installed in a different folder under Windows, but that isn't too difficult. I believe that Wine automatically assigns drive Z: for Windows programs, so if you click the 'Override Detection' button, just browsing to find the folder. That is typically:
  • /home/{username}/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Perfect Golf/Courses
  • (or perhaps it might say fedora-installation, depending on your Linux distro)
unless you have changed the default game installation location, and then it would be:
  • /home/{username}/{steam game library folder}/steamapps/common/Perfect Golf/Courses
EDIT: I also should note that the game folder needs to be manually selected each time you run the program - it isn't remembered (at least on my system)

The Course Checker on my Linux Mint installation is shown below for reference:
