Well my computer ran for 2 days without shutting down, after running the Malware program. But today it shut down after being on for over 3 hrs. Still a puzzle .

Are we talking "powered off"? I wonder if this is nothing more than the system going into Hibernation or Sleep modes. Check your Power Options and see when your computer is set to sleep, also check when the monitor is set to sleep.

My preference on my system is "never" allow my monitor or computer to sleep or hibernate. The only time it gets powered off is when I shut it down.

Have you got a surge protector in the wall socket and the PC is plugged into that?

If so try plugging the PC directly into the wall socket temporarily to rule out the surge protector tripping out.

On an outside note. Can you see if you have your virus scanner set to scan when idle? And to shut down after scan?

Crusher what I mean about powering off it just shuts down like the power button was pressed, it does not reboot on its self I have to press the power button to get it back running, My power setting or set to never shutdown or sleep.

Smokingrooves, I have watched the youtube video and set my computer up like it suggested, the next time it shuts down I will check the dump file folder and attache it to a post.

If you are able to do this on your own, I would switch out the Power Supply with a similar one. The power supply you currently have could be overheating or simply be defective.

Sometimes DIY builders put the Power Supply upside down in their cases. If the fan is not pointed outward through the case ventilation opening or facing downward or upward to pull or push air from the inside of the case , the Power Supply (PSU) will definitely overheat.

In modern ATX MID Tower cases the PSU is mounted on the bottom of the case. The intake fan faces the floor and outtake faces the back of the case.
