Maybe you should ask they record their rounds for one week and put them on the website so we can play against this unbelievable Tour Pro Player.

A controller will not show as a controller if you use mouse mapping software to assign mouse and keyboard to it, i know this because i used mapping software to play a pc game with friends that was not controller active, my pc is more like a console, i have no desk as such..just so you are aware.

I would be glad to play you live if you like, Just give me shout when ever you want. I have played others on this tour before, I like to think I am a pleasant person to play with.

Thanks for posting John. I'm sure you will have members take you up on that offer, and we could certainly host a recorded round from you, or I would be happy to record you in a broadcast (its easy to set up via Steam), and give players a view into how you play.

Also, for anyone who wants to, remember that our Meet & Greet chat area is constantly populated by friendly players of all abilities, all of whom would welcome anyone who wishes to share a round. It is also a great place to get help with any issues you need sorted urgently, and where we have a fairly constant Admin and Moderator presence.

In answer to the handicap question, we do plan to develop on our handicap play. The current Classics event is really a testbed to make sure we have it all working well over a number of weeks. What we would like to do, as part of how we set up rounds, is to have the ability to make any event a handicap with a simple switch. Not as easy as I make it sound, and a hell of a lot of data floating around behind the scenes (to get some idea of it, the handicap looks at 24 rounds, for over 460 players, calculating multiple lines of data for around 240 players, and runs 5 times over 14 days in a timetabled function in the hour immediately before the next events open). The handicap exponentially grew the weight of data we process when introduced, and more handicap events mean ever more to be added. To handle that successfully, and not have a negative effect on how the site runs on a day-to-day basis requires we work smart and make everything as efficient as possible, whilst also making sure we build it to be resilient, to handle all and every eventuality, and as well-designed as possible to allow for future development.

In short, new handicap events will come along at some point, most likely making up 50 per cent of our competitive offering across Medal and Championship rounds, but we always work to a plan with priorities across all aspects of PGLS, and so we need to keep all of our plates spinning rather than drop the ball somewhere else as we improve what we do, keep a development plan for the whole site on track, and continue to provide the level of support that we pride ourselves on giving our members.

A video would not prove or disprove anything i'm afraid, would still be a good watch though. What is the difference between MS and RTMS apart from the real time connect? are the ratios the same? is the swing process the same? if so i wonder why MS actually exists at all. The lack of real time leaves this method open to manipulation more so than any other method. I'm interested to know why this method would be chosen over a 1-1 real time swing, which is more in the moment and produces more of a golf feel.

There are videos and videos. A recorded round shows nothing of any real value, as it is really a point-to-point recording. Better is a recorded stream, but you will still not see methodology. Best of all is a recording made by the player themselves, showing exactly what is happening on screen at the player's end of things.

Steam Broadcasting, easy to set up and available either public or private, gives the best and most easily provided view of exactly what a player is doing.

Yes, ratios are the same. Path of movement determines in-to-out or out-to-in, speed of movement determines launch direction.

Is the swing process the same?

Broadly, yes, but for me as a motionswing player playing horizontally, it feels more intuitive than using a mini-joystick

if so i wonder why MS actually exists at all.

Which is why it has been such a runaway success with everyone switching to it to exploit it.... lmao... Per-lease!

I play motion swing 90% of the time also rts-m but i prefer motion swing as i prefer the meter for power % . i use a gaming mouse crosair rapture and rarely get 2 or 3 shots in a row on plane and i never get the unforgiving message at the round end. Im not sure if this is still in game ,that leads to me another question if playing multiplayer and someone is using an edge would this message appear to all players or just the one cheating? I would love the post shot data to be shown for each player when playing like on the driving range but its not realistic apparently. The golf club 2 shows the flight path in a cone so its easy to spot the cheats on that, but the game is just a fun arcade dial a distance golf game.

Maxie I played Motion swing the first year and a half of this game and love it but my shoulder wont allow constant play with the mouse but I still play every once in a while MS. I concur with your statement completely and hard to get 2 or 3 shots in a row on plane and I have two units a Logitech G602 and Corsair RGB M65 and both pretty gaming mice. If you happen to have a cheap non gaming mouse sort of like one that comes with a PC package when you buy it just hook it up and play with it for awhile and you might have your answer. Those mice have no axis and some players have been known in other games to build Edging boxes which make it easier also but there is no way of knowing that and not much can be done. In the end we just play and it is what it is and the truth is that in video games online you will never stop the advantages that are being used.

I only ask about the difference between MS and RTMS because a swing that is in the moment 1-1 real time seems vastly more appealing than a swing that you basically input instructions then watch unfold, but i see in the post above that MS ha a power bar, so there lies the difference. Its like a 3 click mouse swing. RTS could never consistently compete with methods that have a power bar, their are just too accurate. If i ever get a PC desk again i'll prob try RTSM, i used to love PGA 2000 and its tru swing, i played it to death at the copyright club.

Hi All

I got back into this game when the RTSM method was introduced. To start with I couldn't hit a shot on the driving range more than 20 yards, but with practice you start to get the timing right, and from this point it becomes so addictive. It is to me the closest you get to a real golf swing, with the tempo and ability to angle the mouse open or closed, you can be so creative with shots. I really can't understand why more people don't embrace it.

But each to their own. As long as everybody is enjoying themselves, happy days.
