That's interesting. I have been playing PGA9 PGA18 the Open and Tours without any problem over the last 2 days (Australia)

PGLS tournies still work when PP is down. It's just that the PG software struggles to load anything and of course there is no-one in the lobby and the in-game chat doesn't work, among other issues.

That is interesting on why some things would not work. I'm not sure, Mark, if you explained how, you were able to start a site that has to go through Steam to work. I may be wrong but didn't you, at one time, say no site if no PP and somehow you fixed that from happening? PG is still for sale at Steam so how do players play if not through your site? Links 2003 site is still active, but I know it doesn't go through Steam. Why did PG have too? Just curious and again thanks for all you do.

Andrew Jones, one of the devs, changed things so that any websites like PGLS could still work if the PP site went down. It's actually documented on the PP forums but of course I currently can't link to it.
Back when this was done we all thought the worst and now more than ever we now know why he made the changes.
Data sent from PG to PGLS contains a players Steam ID, eg the long number every player has beginning 7656. If PG no longer worked with Steam, data sent to PGLS from PG would be unidentifiable and therefore no scores would be recorded.

Why doesn't somebody offer to buy the game (the code) from Trackman and then update it. While they're at it they could include these items:
Female avatars
Unplayable lie drop
Legal drops from lateral hazards instead of 150 yards from where your ball entered on the other side of the lake
Wind that works
Club distances that really are like tour pros...i.e. 340 yard driver, 275 yard 3 wood, etc
The ability to measure distances, and use the BLI on the overhead view while others are hitting their shots
Soft and normal greens that actually allow back spin when using a pitching wedge (yes, it happens from time to time, but its completely random)
Get rid of the totally random power loss BS
The ability to zoom to any point on the hole with a standing view instead of arial (can sort of do that now using the F5, but then you are stuck there until your turn)
The ability to see your swing meter until you hit continue so you can learn
These are the no-brainers..many more. Would like to have a conversation with the famous Mike Jones. "What were you thinking?"

And it's back up again. Since I live in Nevada, I am taking bets on how long this will last.
