Hole 17 pin at Avenel Last Round

Battled through 70 holes to be 3 under but then that pin on #17. I see that even Step had an 8 on it so what chance for us mere mortals
Good luck to those still to play it.
The green was difficult enough in rounds 1-3 but the last round pin was an absolute killer. Sorry but spoilt an otherwise enjoyable tourney.

We played that pin in a practice round and remarked that we did not think it would be used with fast greens, boy were we wrong. Thanks to a lucky chip I managed a 4. Looking at some of the other scores is frightening, one guy took 46!!!
Beautiful course though.

Add me to the list of victims, just taken 20 on it. Not sure if I could've done any better but I was playing that same chip over and over again until the f*****g thing went in.

After a discussion with Mike and Paul we have decided not to take any remedial action regarding Hole 17 in Round 4. After reviewing the first complaint we received we do agree it is on the extreme side of things but we found it tough but fair.
We have posted a topic at PP informing the course designer for him to look at as we are aware that the ball does go clean under the wall and if it fails to reach the water it does leave you in a position not too dissimilar to this ...
However this is likely to be a limitation of Unity rather than the design of the course and the course designer may not be able to do anything about it.
Note that if you click "Next" you are offered a chance to replay the previous shot as to do otherwise would result in a bad score.
Also some players have managed to achieve a respectable score on this hole, namely ...

and we therefore feel it would be unfair to the players that approached this hole with caution.
