downloading courses

I've been trying to use the 'course checker' and it doesn't work-says media player has no updates but as win 10 doesn't have media player that's ludicrous? Then I tried to use the downloaded individual courses that are used for the current tourneys but they fail to work even though they are in my 'courses' folder in PG? This leaves me with no alternative but to play with the courses that came with JNPG. Why doesn't PGLS just come with all the courses when you register?

i gave up on the checker program long ago.
just go to courses here and start at the a and work your way through them. once you are caught up just keep checking Golfers World new releases forum
as i keep up with the new one's on there to. PGLS can not download them as there are to many and no way to get them to us
besides all the courses may not be on PGLS as there are other sites with courses also.

Guys,

It would help if I knew what the issues are specifically with the PGLS courses utility rather than saying it "don't work". I have already asked someone else to check it using Windows 10 and he has reported it does work.

As for the courses Merlin, downloading the courses to the correct folder is good but you need to make sure you extract the ZIP files content with the game closed. Simply placing the ZIP file in the courses folder won't work.

I'm on Win 10 and it works perfect and a very useful tool.

I appreciate the little extras you guys put into the PGLS :good:

Did you download the .zip file from here: http://pgls.golfladders.co.uk/forums/vi ... f=2&t=1854

If so, follow this:

* Double click on the zip file
* You should see the PG Courses Checker.exe file
* Right click on the file, and select [copy]
* Minimize the window so you can see you desktop
* Right click anywhere on the desktop, and select [paste]
* You should now have a PGCC icon on your desktop, that you can move anywhere you like
* Double click the icon to load the program

Hope this helps.

I posted before the error message I got when trying to run it.
Currently it's best for me to download the courses and unzip them and put them in the courses folder-now it works fine.
The course checker when it does run asks to look at drive c but my files are on e and when I try to over ride it to e-it says 'not working!'

Tried your way Tresclub but had to over ride drive to e from c and clicked scan and got message 'error sending data : (5 )access is denied.

So back to the drawing or in my case download each course board?

This issue has happened before with another player. :hmmm:

I will have to track back through previous correspondence to find out.

Merlin,

By any chance do you have Comodo Internet Security installed ?

I had this before with kimmer47 ...

http://pgls.golfladders.co.uk/forums/vi ... t=20#p6316

and I successfully sorted the issue.

I've got Comodo and Avast anti virus. Being a technophobe I don't understand how to make the course checker allowed past Comodo-is there a simple way? Avast is ok with it.
