RTSM & RTSH Banned?

Hi all,

I notice from the rules for tournies that RTSM & RTSH are not allowed. Anyone tell me why these two don't qualify.

Also, are there any RTSM & RTSH ONLY tournies? (Tournies not including Controller devices).

Thanks in advance,

Graham.

Real Time Controllers were banned from all PGLS tournies some time back.

However there is the Real Timers CC run by Simon (SimChars1968) ...

who runs a handicapped Real Time Controllers only tourney. You will need to contact him to be added to take part in it.

I play Simon's tour and use RTSM.

Thanks for your reply's guys. I notice that on Simons tour (which I have just started on) that RTSC's are allowed. The leader at the moment in this weeks tournie is (Unknown) -31 with a 1st round score of -14. This is why RTSM and RTSH shouldn't be mixed with RTSC in MHO. Or am I missing something here!

RTS-Mouse of both flavours (vertical and horizontal) is allowed in all events. The only banned equipment is the the controller, so therefore a swing made with a mini-joystick. Even a click swing with a controller is permitted.

A look through earlier posts will tell you the full story on the reasons behind the regrettable decision behind the ban.

There is no tour purely for mouse swing. Instead, the RTCC events use a handicapping system to level the playing field between mouse swings and controller play.

This score in this weeks tournament was made using RTSM/H. There are some very good real time players here, and I am hoping that as more players give this method a try, this number will increase.

This imo is the most fun tour I play and the score you are seeing this week is not the norm even with the best players. This week the courses have generous fairways and the best putters are rising to the top as the fairways and greens hit are a pretty high number. I have hit a lot of greens and fairways in the first 2 rounds but 37 and 34 putts negated that. Lol. I saw a few new players this week and that is great to see as with handicap scoring adjusted weekly it lends to really competitive leaderboards. It will get really interesting when we see courses like Chicago which are tight and tough rough come into play as most of those fairways and greens hit this week won't be hit at courses like that. Great fun and welcome aboard.

What you are missing is common among many of us. There are "coders" who can create hacks within the game, the mouse driver/controller that cannot be detected by "cheat detection apps" in tournaments. PP has done a good job of this to-date but an experienced "coder" who has the ability to create exploits will forever be a nuisance in PG.

Note: Combine a "hack" with a skilled player and you'll see incredibly low scores; often times 10 to 20 strokes lower than second and third place.

These people's goal is to be #1 in the game but also be the #1 hacker. :nono:

Crusher that score your referring to is not a Net number but handicap number and in reality it was half of the -31. Pretty tough to use a code playing RTSM and that score was a reflection of a hell of good round of putting. Just saying.

I was not referring to a particular score in a current tournament. Just saying...
