Very Little movement up of Late

I have noticed over recent months that thier as been very Little Movement upwards through the levels (Ammateur to Pro to TP). Instead we are seeing regularly Ammi's scoring 40 plus in Tourneys and its often the same players. You would have thought that these players (in the interest of the game) would voluntarily ask to be moved up, but they seem content in putting in Scores above Pros and Tour Pros.

This makes it very frustrating for players trying to improve there game because they are constantly in the shadow of these players that have outstripped their place in there present Level.

I have asked Affo who is looking after the scoring system to have a look at the present scoring system. But whilst this is happening I would ask those who could easily play alongside Pros or Tour Pros to request a move up. It would then give others a chance to take the linelight.

I would also like to see a sensible cap on Handicapps. Its becoming regular for new players coming newly into PG Classics with a 10+ h/cap to shoot to the top of the leaderboard. Also its becoming too difficult for some good players to enjoy the game with a rising h/capp of -8 or more. I would like to see a cap set at no more than 5+ and 5-.

What do others think.

I think it was Mike who did that beautiful movement chart in the past and enforced the level changes. Sure hope Mike is ok, his contribution to the community is sorely missed.

I think a cap on H/caps is a good shout Paul 5+5- looks about right too......

I cant understand why players dont want to improve they game and move upto the higher levels....Its really not that hard once you get used to it......i personally got bored playing at the lower levels far to easy.......

Well said Perc

just the way it goes fella's, i really dont understand why more do not try and level up
hell TP is the best way to play this game, at the least Pro. all other levels are just to easy
at least for the clickers. leveling up as a clicker is just to easy as the meter speed does not change.
hacker and ama level just spoils a person to run the meter up as far as they can, then when they try to level up
it is a total turn off when you just miss a little on the bottom. i myself have gotten to where i play within the meter 0 to 100%
and those little misses are not unmanageable and give you a heck of a lesson on recovery.

Pro status is the default for new players as is a scratch handicap. Levels are changed during the close down day (Thursday) to avoid level changing mid tournament. Your handicap will become more exact after a certain number of recorded rounds are completed.

Hi Andy,
Is the forced level movement according to scoring still in force?

Hi,

Yes, though being reviewed.

I have discovered from Andy that a player needs to be consistantly hitting 7 shots under the designated Par of 71 before he is pushed up to the next the next level of play. Looking at the player stats in PGLS for 2018 Only 2 players are actually able to play constantly off this mark

TLVX on 54.57 & Chaznewby 64.26

Which is the reason for very few movements up

You must be looking at total average, the move is made if the target is hit in any month
