Advice, hints have been offered about how to improve your gameplay by many. Watch some of my videos, you can see exactly how I play.
I went to YouTube and could find no videos by "Affo" for Perfect Golf. Perhaps if you would include a link?
I think you and Duncan have sort of missed my point. The game's inconsistency is what bothers me. I'm a decent snapper, and I played Links for 27 years, so I understand ball mechanics and all of that. I'm not looking to shoot -18, that's one of the reasons I left Links to come to this game.
Examples:
Breezy wind, direction and speed change while you're half way up the meter. What? And a typical change has the wind going from 9mph to 14mph in milliseconds. A huge impact on shot distance and placement. What was the point of the shot set up?? Show me, even in the British Open, where wind affects shots like that.
Gusty wind is not gusty in this game. Sometimes it will sit on a specific wind speed and direction for several seconds. That's what breezy should do.
Windy..sometimes 30 mph wind right in your face is 50 yards short, sometimes its only 28 yards short (assuming the same club, snap, and power). How can you calculate a shot like that...or LEARN how to hit in those conditions?
Many fairway and green reactions seem to be determined by the designer instead of the chosen conditions. Tournament says Normal/Soft, the fairways play like they are soft too. No high bounce, just dies on impact. How can you LEARN to hit in those conditions when they are never the same?
You have a 37 yard pitch to a flat green straight in to a 31 mph wind. Sometimes there is ZERO affect from the wind, the ball goes sailing over the green. So, the next time you don't consider the wind. You end up 15 yards short. How can you LEARN to hit in those conditions when there is ZERO consistency?
Its actually easier to play in Stormy than Windy because its the only time the wind is stable. If you set up on the tee with 37mph from the right, that's what it will be when you hit.
Generally, again still some inconsistency, if a player hits the snap, calm wind, breezy wind under 20mph has no effect on the ball so its useless to try to compensate for wind.
I use the short and long snap to fade and draw. The place to hit short or long is so inconsistent, I just give up and try to play the wind with a snap. The problem with that is if you miss it, even 005, the effect is unreal.
Watching a video will only teach if the video maker patiently explains why and what they are doing at shot setup, and what they expect the result to be.
