Confused

I just received the email to confirm my participation in the new tour. I also received my confirmation for the North American tour and was sent to pick 8 selections I want to play. What is confusing is why 8 when all the tournaments are already there? Why was #8 Mexico not available to click? Can't find any explanation about how this works or am I looking at the wrong topic?

it is a WGC event that is why it has to be played as is.
now WGC please dont ask cause none of that has been explained as far as i know.
so maybe Bob or Les could get in here and let us know what the WGC is?

#8 Mexico is a WGC event. Everyone plays in the WGC events and in all Majors. So you don't need to select these events.
You have been assigned to the North American Tour. The option to select 8 events is there to permit you to play up to 8 events on the Continental Tour instead of the North American Tour if you wish to do that. You are not required to select 8 events or any events on the Continental Tour. It is purely an option to play up to 8 events on the other tour during the year.
If you choose to play an event on the Continental Tour, you will have to skip the event scheduled for that time on the North American Tour.
This is all explained in the Rules:
Choice of Events
To give players a degree of freedom, everyone can choose to play UP TO 8 events on the tour to which they are not allocated. This does not include Major and WGC events as everyone will be playing these tourneys anyway. NOBODY CAN PLAY BOTH EVENTS IN THE SAME WEEK. Also, BEFORE a season commences EVERY PLAYER will have to specify which events, IF ANY, they wish to play ON THE TOUR TO WHICH THEY ARE NOT ATTACHED, up to and including a maximum of 8. This is done on the 'MY TOUR' page. This means that nobody will know who will be playing where until the actual event commences.
Players must confirm their "Guest Tour" selections whether or not they have chosen any at all, otherwise you will not see the PGLS Tours in-game.

Charlie has it spot on.
You may choose UPTO and INCLUDING 8 events on the other Tour as a guest, play against different players, but the WGC and Majors are one big field just like the current PGA18.
You message was to remind people that just signing up is not enough, you need to CONFIRM your schedule for the year.
Bob, Les, please correct if inaccurate.

I would suggest it is the World Golf Championships.
on the "My Tours" page you have to "Confirm Selections" (even if there are none selected) if you haven't already done so.
It does state above that ...
You now need to let us know which Guest Events shown in the right column you would like to take part in. You can select none at all or up to a maximum of 8.
Please note you cannot select events marked (Majors event) or (WGC event) as everyone takes part in these.
You must confirm your Guest Event selections whether you choose any or not. Not doing so will mean the PGLS Tours not showing up in-game for you.

World Golf Championships - All four WGC tournaments are official money events on the PGA Tour and the European Tour, and officially sanctioned by the Asian Tour, Japan Golf Tour, Sunshine Tour, and PGA Tour of Australasia. All four WGC events offer comparable prize money to the major championships.
Got that Dave?!
