If you roll into water you would incur a penalty, what is the difference in this case? If you had to restart you would get a rehit with a penalty, should it not be this way?

Well yes didnt think of that way perculator, and i believe you could be right.

This happens to every player and the penalty should stand....when you resarted at the same point you get to try again and not go in the water...if you then get a birdie and no penalty then thats not right...take the hit Cubs

Yes i agree after not realizing that very fact and yes Mark i will take the hit, it was a mistake i overlooked not intentional, i dont go out of my way to gain extra strokes!

I have to take partial blame for removing the penalty stroke without actually reading into how it occurred properly in the first place. Guess I'm so used to PG causing issues I just removed it.

Anyway I have now put back the penalty stroke.
