My Thoughts

Hello Players,

Just my thoughts on playing here at PGLS.

There seems to be allot of over-thinking going on; rules, events, changing this and that.
It doesn't make for a pleasurable experience in my opinion. The site was setup for enjoyment and done very well.
Let's just play as they were setup.

There are so many events that I can't get to all of them so I have to pick and choose.

For me it doesn't matter if 10 or 50 players play an event I still enjoy it.

I'm not one for 'polls'. You get the same ones voting every time. Its not a good indicator for the whole group. I know it sounds awful but a PM to
all members asking to submit a reply would be the way to go. Just a thought!

The players need some stability. Changing this and that isn't the way to go.

If it isn't broke leave it alone. Its only broke in a few eyes.

Just another thought on handing "your" event over to someone else. Once you do this, it isn't yours any more, Sorry, just my view of things.
This is intended to all event creators.

Lets play golf :good:

Randy,

The 2 most recent Polls which were PairUp 9 and Stableford 9 were for minor changes. If they don't work out we can always hold our hands up and say "that didn't work" and revert it back.

Randy, Let's agree to disagree. Change is not always good but then again everything in life changes as time goes on. Not sure what specific changes you are talking about. Pairs went to weekly from every other week, excellent change. Caddyshack now has non handicap leaderboards and does 4, 9 hole tournaments instead of 18 hole and attendance is up. Dave, at HDH, is trying to do the same thing. Many events are so you have a choice. Moving some events to different start and end dates to accommodate those who run out of tournaments to play. Not sure what kind of stability you are looking for. Polls, how else do we determine what people want? Would it be better if changes were made without any player imput? Same one's vote each time. I guess others are just happy no matter what changes are made or they don't have the time. Handing your event to someone else is really confusing to me. First Mark cannot do PGLS on his own. Life happens like in Dave's case where his cancer kept him from continuing HDH which I took over and now that Dave is doing well he has taken it back. Is there a specific take over that bothered you? I, for one, so appreciate this tour and Mark's commitment plus all the players who contribute to the weekly tournaments which is time consuming. Everyone has a right to voice their opinion and Randy you did just that. I just voiced mine also. Happy New Year!

Hi Alan,
Thanks for your reply. A quick one on stability; one can't visit the forum without seeing someone wanting a change of rules or state of play.
I agree Mark has done an outstanding job creating this site; giving a high five doesn't seem to be enough for his time and leadership.

Thanks again for your thoughts. It's just what I was hoping for, some constructive banter.
