Help me understand, please.

Decided to play the first round of PG Classics at Bethesda. First hole, birdie 3. Shows in-game score as EVEN. Looked at the score card. Shows hole 1 score as 3/4. Hole 1 is 15 on stroke index. My handicap is -4. Should I not be giving back a stroke on 1,2,3,and 4 stroke index?

This tournament and the two leader boards are very confusing. Help me understand please.

Edit: Perhaps its the other way around. I have to give a stroke on the 4 easiest holes??

You are actually on a -5 handicap for PG Classics as it uses a snapshot of whatever your handicap was at the time PG Classics started.

Therefore you are giving back 1 shot to the course on whatever holes have indexes of 14,15,16,17 and 18.

Thank you. Shot -3 and end up with +2..bummer. How do I look at the last 24 rounds that are used to determine my handicap? I certainly don't shoot -5 very often, so I'd like to see how I ended up with that handicap.

Thank you for the link.

I guarantee, I'm going to shoot +18 every round in every tournament for the next 24 to get rid of this ridiculous handicap system. Hole 1 is a par 3 and I have to give a stroke on it. 190 yards in to a 16mph diagonal wind AND the frickin' pin is hidden around trees, 10 ft from the fringe with hard/hard and 13 stimp. I have to give a stroke for THAT??? No way. I'm lucky to PAR it.

I 100% agree with those who just shake their head at some of this stuff.

Playing poorly with the purpose intention of builsing a handicap is imo a form of cheating. The point of having h/cap is to help those who need help due to there skill level
