Tried to set the pins for the conditions, for example, round 1 most pins near middle of the green. Did the same for round 4 and tried not to set any pins near the fringe. Hate those pins where you hit too short land in soft and go nowhere and hit hard green by 1" and go 10 to 20 yards. It did rain there Saturday and why I included rain for round three. Overnight greens were heated to get rid of water but fairway not so lucky. Just need to play safer and smarter but most of all have fun. It is only a game.

Really enjoyed the first round and the fact that scores don't show. Didn't think I played that well and thought players like NIBNOB, jspirate, cubbies etc had posted good scores but conditions were tough and happy to see that I have a small lead..goes to show you have to fight to the final hole, you never know and with it being tight after R1...I know I need to play well to stay up there..good fun!
Nothing wrong with a tougher setup every now and then.

Now that was a tough work out. Well done to all who persevered to the end! All 4 rounds were tough in different ways.
You can't please everyone, but it was nice to have a harder challenge, perfect warm up for next week!!

that just great for you 20% of the elite of this game.
but to be honest I just look at it as a tourney that will more than likely run off the average players or maybe they are not wanted on this tour.
look at those scores, I guess next weeks count may tell us something as I am betting
some people just sit this tourney aside in the future.
and no this is not a bitch at anyone just my way of thinking.
I have always been thinking we are here to try and get the most people into the game that we can.

I have always been thinking we are here to try and get the most people into the game that we can.
That has always been my objective, especially at HDH. Like everything else in life, you can't please all the people all the time. I am not pointing a finger at you Dave. I am sure there were many who played that felt the same way. I respond to posts, like yours, not to defend myself, at least most of the time, but to give the golfers, who do play, my thought process when doing these conditions. Pine Valley is a tough course and very challenging no matter what the conditions are. I like the course because it really makes you think about each shot more then many other courses. Nothing wrong with most under par scores being in the single digits once in a great while. I will do this each time both groups are playing the same course. As always, I appreciate all comments good or bad but like the good comments quite a bit more.

so far 0.22 shots over the 4 rounds harder than the previous highest average (ignoring top and bottom 15% for exceptional low and high scores). Only 2 events out of the 24 have finished wish an average of 290+ . Some have averaged 266..that's average -22 so looks like a good sprinkling of scores and setups..like has been said, can't please everyone all the time but at least we are getting some of all difficulties in the setups, thanks guys.
