Beginning of the end

Disappointing the attendance for the current 7 round tournament. We are just finishing round 6 and only 7 out of 22 teams have played all the rounds. 5 teams have played none and 3 teams 1 round. Setting up 7 rounds is quite time consuming and the lack of attendance is just wasting my time if only a handful of teams actually play. I suggest we end the tournament when the 7th round is complete. Right now I have no desire to set up the next tournament.

i had a feeling this was going to happen, when the cups where done away with
there is just nothing left to play for now. i suppose the regular divisions will be next
as there again there is no silver and gold cups to play for. this ain't on you Alan as these never should have started
and then the creater just up one day and say I no longer want to do em. they just should have been taken down.

maybe is someone wanted to keep this going it should be put into a country
club setting rather then made up as a PGLS official tournament. but then again it is not to easy to get people to do things to further
the play here, seems to be they just want to play and let others take care of all the work.

People wanted more pair action, they got it. It's Summer time, numbers aren't all that lower than we expected them to be. If there is 2 competitive Divisions for the pairs then good, that's 16 teams and each month and the Pairs up event gets around 20 teams finish each week. As for nothing to play for...that's the whole idea of Divisions, you're playing against the others in your Division, to try and progress up? They are all tight, especially Single player Divisions.

As for the single Divisions, that is still going strong with between 85-90 playing each round still after over a year...think you could call that popular.

But then if there is enough doom and gloom spread it catches on then you get even less playing. Think there's enough bad stuff going around, it doesn't need to get negative in here! Game has been out years now, players move on, but still new ones are coming on board. It is what it is.

No skin off my nose if the Divisions Pairs stops, though I for one and it seems others do still enjoy the event, but yes it does take time to set up. Half hour every 4 days to play isn't much to ask players to play.

It's not on Alan quite correct but I didn't anticipate not carrying it on quite so quickly as happened, but it did, apologies.

Many thanks for filling my shoes in setting these up Alan, much appreciated.

Agree Divisions is still doing well and definitely will continue that Tour. I think Division Pairs had too few days between rounds. If playing alone no problem but pairs you need to have your partner available and that isn't always possible. Maybe we could run a Pairs tour like survivor with same schedule as pairs. That way members could get play both tours at the same time rather then worrying about when one tour ends earlier then the other. If we could get 20 or more teams could be week 1 everyone plays, week 2 top 15, week 3 top 10, and finally week 4 top 5. Anyone have an opinion or another idea?

If the Gold and Silver Cups for both the Divisions and Divisions Pairs is still of interest, I would volunteer to to keep track of that. No extra playing required as it uses already played rounds.
