Wind Conditions

I am sure this has been discussed before but asking again, are the winds blowing in the same direction for every player, playing the same rounds? I ask because there are many times the winds are so strong against you making par is the goal. This is especially true on long par 4's and 5's. Now I just finished round 4 Riviera and hole 17 was a long par 5. I see Tony had a birdie. I had winds against me all 5 shots and they were in the 30+ mph range. How does someone birdie a 600 yard par 5? Tony how did you birdie the hole?

They should be yes, otherwise it would make a mockery of all our tournies if players had different wind settings.

Ha, Stozza you azz lol. As my playing partner, you see that crap every week :-) . I just saw this post today and Alan's question... Alan, I remember that hole --- I hit driver, driver, driver and still was 50 or so yards short of the green. Then a simple pitch in~!

Ha, driver off the deck, three shots in a row? You and GOD!

Dmanz, nowhere did I say I hit them all straight~! I just advanced it. Sometimes I think a low loft 3 wd goes further than slightly miss hit driver off the deck, but the hope for that perfect snap with the driver is a cruel mistress....
