Course Forge Installation Question

A question for you course designers.
Mike Jones' installation video at PP says to install Unity version 5.2.3 in order to install Course Forge.
His post is dated September 23, 2016. Is this still the correct way to install Course Forge or should a more recent version of Unity editor be installed instead?
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you can't use a newer version than 5.2.3 which you can download here ...

I had the same question. There are so many newer versions, that maybe some won't work. I would ask which version the designers who are still involved are using?

According to Mike Jones only the version I linked to above will work.

Thanks for the responses; very helpful.
Another question - I have read a little about creating and importing textures into Course Forge. I have always created my own textures and objects for another golf course design program that I have used; it's fairly easy. But it appears a little more complicated for Course Forge. Do objects like trees, clubhouses, vehicles, benches, etc. have to be created in a 3d software program and imported? I see that Blender works with Course Forge and I have downloaded this program, but have not installed it yet.
I noticed that at one time Perfect Parallel was offering a coupon for a set of trees from SpeedTrees, but apparently no longer. I was not able to locate any coupon at the PP site. Are there any sites where one can download clubhouses or objects that can be imported into Course Forge?
Thanks,
Charlie

Charlie,
Are you able to see the "Course Forge" forums section on the following page ...
http://www.perfectparallel.com/index
You will need to login of course but I seem to recall you may have to request access to it.

Thanks Mark, very helpful! I have been registered there for a few years, but I've not previously explored the design program.
Many of the download links are now dead, but a few still work so I was able to DL various items. It also looks like there are still a few tutorials for using various programs that may be helpful and I was able to download a house builder program. So we'll see how it goes.
