PGLS

We move onto the Summer 2017 season. The LZ Group started a County Club event in late July to add to the other events. Participation was good, not quite as good as the Spring of 201717, but still way up on Winter 17.

Overall, participation fee by about 11% compared to Spring 17 with the Open retaining the most players, only dipping by 7% whereas the PGA18 lost 22% of rounds.

PGA9 still got an average of 303 rounds played per event with the Open the next most popular event having 252 rounds per event.


Here are the number per event per week:


Summer 17's top 20 participants were: 4 players tying on 55 events each, a full house without the LZ events! shotmaker1, duncanmathieson, Step and bobfletch



This leads to a current top 50 table of participation to the end of Summer 17 with duncanmathieson heading the way, 3 more than Riddler with Seasider47 just 4 further events behind (all 3 still going strong to this day!!)

Thanks Alan, wouldn't be doing it if it was. Just enjoy looking at all the numbers over the years and trying to name and congratulate as many as possible along the way.

Onto the events themselves and 46 players managed a podium spot across the 6 different events. 5 managed to get a top 3 10 times or more.

A look at the ELO ratings still to come....

Onto the actual ELO ratings, showing the true rankings based on every round played, good or bad, they all count.

I mentioned in Spring, that Bladerunner was closing in on the top spot and indeed with only 21 events, he managed to take top spot for 4 weeks in June and at the end of Summer 17, sits 2nd but he disappears soon to leave 2nd place likely to go to Step who managed to get to 3rd place in the 16 weeks playing at PGLS. Will they get to No1??

As you can see, the top 6 have a healthy cushion at present, but players i'm expecting to make a top 5 claim are NIBNOB, Cubbies645, Riddler and CharlieB amongst many others (I haven't done the numbers in advance, so I really don't know).

The big movers this season are below, first by position gained, then by actual points gained. Little surprise that Step leads the way with his rapid accent (117 places gained and 455 points!!!), but there are some other big movers like 2ndXaround moving into the top 80 and hockeynut now just outside the top 100. Cubbies645 is the 2nd largest point gainer, 200 which moved him up from 69th to 14th, a great achievement as it gets harder to move up places the nearer you get to the top. Puffnstroke is the 3rd best point gainer with a return of +155 this season taking him inside the top 40:




The top new entrants (or re-entrants if someone has returned to playing after more than a 13 week absence) were:


55th - Often Rong
59th - Brendan (returning)
76th - wizzputter (returning after missing 3 seasons)
85th - QBL_MrCobra
100th - Packernut

All of these no doubt looking to climb much higher.
