I just noticed the difference in elevation by Jeff M version which is 562 and the new pobee 10 version version which is 1765. Its a considerable difference and how do we know which is correct.

Elevation plays a big part in getting the shots right and can very much affect your final score, so why is the new version such a difference.

I don't understand why any designer would change the elevation of a real course
just makes no sense to me.

I sent him a PM on September 1st, and he acknowledged that it was wrong. He hasn't said if he will fix it, though.

It makes no sense because that is not is happening. I did not change the elevation. It takes a lot of time and effort to get a correct and high res heightmap loaded into the designer software and scale it correctly. Save you the details, but the software sometimes puts wacked elevation into perfect golf. I did not catch it when i released beta. Its an easy fix i just have to go in and do it. Its unproductive posts like these that make me question why even spend the time?

pobee10,

I don't think Dave's comments were meant with any disrespect. It's an observation that the elevation is not correct.

I like your version and it's textures. Fix the elevation at your own pace.

Your other courses released in the past few months have been very nice additions to the course library. Keep them coming, please.

John

don't be so thin-skinned pobee10, as you say it happens often with the program and it is an easy fix
just seems like it should have been checked before you put it out. I will say so far with the courses you have put out I like them all
not to mention the version of Oakmont you put out it is so much better than the Trapmont that came out years ago. and hell the greens play great compared to the other.
the elevation is an important thing that needs to be kept correct on the real courses.
that is all i was trying to get across.
