So I guess I have to learn more about the 3D program Blender. Which is an amazing program that is free. 2 trillion buttons (not exaggerating) and way too complicated for whats needed to do. Even the "open file"-dialog doesn't function normally..... you can't select like "Desktop" or anything like that... has like 10 buttons on a row at the top that might help me, but pressing anyone of them might open a portal to Narnia. But hey.... anxiety is free so why not have more?
Ye I know the "installed template" for creating a golf course has like 7 rocks you can drag into the course...
But they look like this:
That might be amazing if you're designing an Indiana Jones game for 8 year olds, or doing a documentary on the History Channel about Alaskan gold.
Since each one of them rocks are prefabs, that means they are kinda like a zip-file of each rock, they contain the model, textures and properties for that model. Which I really love....... everything is in like "one file" and you drag it into the scene and it creates an object there that you can scale, rotate or whatever...
BUT! Since this is an older version of Unity....... you can't unpack the .prefab and change the texture and/or the model......and since "they" didn't supply the models and textures separately I got no option than to create some new ones....
Since this is a scary good program and PG is hmm, kinda not photo realistic and shouldn't contain objects contain millions of polygons. So it's like: "How can I make a shitty low polygon 3D-object and make it look good?". And the support in the community is questionable at best for old software. *wink wink wink*
I will however, if I get something done, publish it all, objects, textures, whatever and it will be all "open source" for anyone to use.
And I might even use this license for anyone using it:
It's never too late to quit though! But onwards to infinity and beyond!
