Wondering

just wondering how many folks here will be taking up the new EA golf game when it is released?
I will be taking it up as soon as it is released. I do believe we will be losing a lot of players when it does come out.
this question is for Mark is there any way EA may let you do with their new as you do here? as we all know this game could go offline at any time
and it would be great to have a backup like this. even without 3c which is my favorite way to play I also like playing with a controller and the last EA online I played real-time swing most of that game then I learned how lazy I could be playing 3c and I took it on.
just trying to figure out how many we will be losing when it is released.
please this post is not here to run down EA as I know all of us could do that for one thing or another over the years. just trying to get a feel of what this may look like after the release.

I'm aware of the release of the EA game and as long as it has an API available as does Perfect Golf to record scores then I'm all for setting something up.

There is no way I will setup something like I did for WGT where everything was manually recorded.

I never played on your WGT site as I got over that game pretty quickly just too much money to play and try and keep up with the top players
not to mention having balls that run out and more have to be bought. I also understand about the manual recording as that can be a real PITA
have you thought about contacting them to see what can be worked out in advance? I would think if they see what you do with this game maybe get you a way in their doors.

I have pre-ordered already. I imagine PG will be a ghost town soon.

LSPN is still going, and people are still playing Links 2003 so don't think PG is dead yet.

I sincerely hope this site with its great tournaments continues for many years to come

For me PG its all about the chase, i spent years trying to catch the likes of Affo,Step and others, their scores just seem impossible to me....but i'm stubborn and didn't give up, eventually i started winning a few tourneys but Affo was still top dog.....we played a KO tourney a while back and we both got to the final at Augusta b9.....i was so nervous, sweety palms, silly i know but id chased this guy for years and now i had a chance to face him 1v1.....its was a classic and i just beat him by 1 stroke on the last hole think he finished -8 and i -9......this is the kinda game i wont forget and am very grateful to PG and PGLS.....

A similar thing happened last night in pga9, although we played r4 at the time we weren't playing together, Fubzee and i had a great battle...i tried my hardest on that track(its usually kills me) after every round id check to see his score, it was very tight going into final round, only fitting that it ended in a tie......i congratulated him on such a great tourney.....

Like i said at the start, its all about the chase, and for me this game and site work perfectly together......Don't be too quick to replace it......thx

PGLS will be around until Perfect Golf closes.

I've seen some of the preview videos of EA PGA Tour and the graphics look great. List of courses made available on release is also excellent. Personally I don't need or want hundreds of courses. I prefer to play on a handful of courses I know well (Links 99 upbringing I suppose) so I can play strategically. But for me, chiming with Mark and others, incentive is everything. I've put in all these hours on PG entirely because of PGLS. I rarely win but have private battles with those who score similarly. Of course it helps that the underlying gameplay is solid. Yes, there are some issues, but I can live with those. Same applied to Links. So although I'm interested to see what EA deliver, I'm cautious about what to expect from gameplay and the sense of belonging that PG and PGLS bring.

From what I am seeing EA's game will be a LOT like 2K23, except the most important part, no 3 click. I play both Perfect Golf and 2K23 and am liking 2K23 a little more the more I play. Tiger Woods 07 and 08 were some of my favorite golf games. We will see what they are able to do. Hopefully 3 click for the PC will be put in the game soon.
