Well, I get tired of soft greens and 9, 10 and 11 stimp - its just flat out boring in my opinion. I would prefer to see some more tournaments that are hard and fast. These conditions often require a strategy and a thought process that is a bit "outside of the box."
I am not saying this to complain about the topic of this tread or to make my preferred conditions known or anything like that. I am saying it to help illustrate that there is no way to please everyone.
I don't play as much as I use to, and as a result I am glad that there are a variety of tournament conditions to pick from each week. I can usually find something that interests me.
Thanks to those that use their personal time to set tournaments for us. Without the tournaments, the $35 I spent on PG would have already run its course...

Crusher, the only difference between Pro and TP is the MAP and the time it takes to place your shot. I think what your beef with Boxmaker is unjust.
Not just the map. You have less mis-snap room on your six. I don't have a beef with Boxmaker, I was making a point.

Crusher, I will check this out for myself, and will let ya know how that went. However, when I read your response to Boxmaker111, to me, it came across as a challenge to him. Maybe he can give it a try at TP and see if there are additional issues other than what I've stated previously. Using the mouse 3 click is extremely difficult at TP level, but I'm sure controller players can sit back, relax, and let the lil black box with buttons and knobs do their magic. LOL... PGLS participation is dropping and soon it too will go by the wayside like Caddyshack did just recently. So if you have any influence with the administrators, maybe you should remind them that this game was meant to be enjoyable and not force players to try and figure out each shot with a damn slide rule.
Cheers,
John

You don't need a slide rule. I'm sure if everyone wants target golf so everyone can shoot -9 for 9 holes, sure the setters can oblige and everyone will feel better about themselves. That will be fun won't it!
Btw on a side...hats off to the mouse swing/controller guys shooting fantastic scores, i couldn't do it (have tried!), they are the real true best players, not someone who can click when they want to.

I'm just going to eliminate any tournament with set ups for top 10 players only. Strong breeze in this game is windy. Not playing windy.

I'm finding this discussion and a couple of similar discussion threads rather amusing. Some of the settings such as the current PGLS Open Round 4 wind speed and Period 5 of the current Divisions, both of which I played, as well as a Divisions Pairs round I didn't participate in. If I'm reading these discussions correctly the worst of it is in how it affects medium/long approach shots (including tee shots on par 3s). The top players are used to being able to land these shots close enough to 1-putt a significant fraction of the time, and it sounds to me like they're the ones complaining the most when faced with conditions that make this difficult. I'm not that good yet. My distance judgment and snap accuracy are off often enough that I'm usually settling for anywhere on or near the green (or maybe in the sand) which leads to a 2-putt, scramble, or sand save on most holes. So the two rounds I played didn't stand out as being that much more difficult than a normal round for me. I still can't touch the top players here, but for me, these conditions level the playing field somewhat.

Do you want to see -50 or better win every week? I don't

I've not had any reason to grumble about settings this season.
I'd rather take designers to task in some situations such as when there is a bunker directly on the front edge of the green and the pin is placed only a couple of feet behind that bunker. Even in "normal" conditions the ball is usually going to be a long way from the hole.
Then there's the ski slopes that often surround hole placements even when close to the hole.

I hate when it was obvious no smoothing around the pin location was done. Not flattening, just smoothing. I hate when there's jagged edges in the break graph. Not a big deal when the ball is at a good pace. but within 5 feet it can do strange things.
