Hi Alan,

Looking at the number of players participating in both tours I think it would be better merged into one.

I know this will not be popular .... but,

Make it one tour and make it a weekly cut tour, just like the real tourney. :)

Personally, I like the existing 2 Tour format but also like the idea of a season ending tourney using the top 30 players on career earnings list.

4th round got to be some of the worst pin settings I can remember ever seeing.
makes one think there are much better ways to spend one's time other than playing a silly game.
if ya don't care for what I have to say KMA.

The Idea behind the PGLS Tour was to try to create a career mode challenge to run alongside the PGA tours. Each player would sign up for iether the USA or European tour but with an oppitunity to choose some guest slots to play in the opposite tour. Being from the UK and enjoying playing the UK courses, alot of these being Links courses I chose the Euro tour but also chose 8 best USA courses to play. I have just played The Alfred Dunhill Links championship (which I thoroughly enjoyed) on 3 top Links style course, doubt I would be doing this if there were just one merged tour.

The PGLS Tour is the best tour and having two seperate tours is the reason for this so please can we forget this merger.

Since I set up the schedules for both Tours last year, I can speak to the three main difficulties with the European Tour.

1) The Euro Tour schedule comes out very, very late (Dec) wrt our PGLS start date (Jan 1). This means in order to let our members pre-select their guest events in a timely manner we (Alan & I) have to guess at about half of the schedule. Compare this years schedule to the actual Euro being played - it's half right and half wrong. Making an educated guess for 20 of the 45 events is a PITA.

2) The number of real Euro courses (non-Majors) that match the schedule is 5: Alfred Dunhill (St. Andrews & Carnoustie), Wales Open (Celtic Manor), BMW Champ (Wentworth), and Nedbank Challenge (Gary Player CC). These could easily be brought into the Fedex schedule. Picking the other 30 or so replacement courses is an even bigger PITA.

3) A single Tour would also do away with the need to force each member to play the Tour associated with their country, and the extra admin work that goes with that.

Just my thoughts....

My choice would be a single tour based mostly on the Fedex schedule with some of the real course Euro Tour added in, and a cut system of top 60%. Play opens on Thursday, the cut is Sunday, and play closes Tuesday.

Keep the schedule broken into 3 "legs", as it is now.

Add in a Fedex style 3 week playoff system to end the season. Top 100 in points, then top 70, then top 30.
