NEW PRO-AM EVENT

I've always been of the opinion that it would be great to 'tie in' our PGLS scores in the PGA18 tourney with the REAL pro's scores in the parallel REAL event to create a PRO-AM scenario, but didn't think it would be possible.
However, with a bit of thought and perseverance, Ian (altaedm) and myself have come up with just that for this week's tourney at Quail Hollow. The way it works is as follows:
1. Only rounds 3 and 4 of our PGA18 tournament will count towards the Pro-Am event. If we include rounds 1 and 2 it would be certain that some PGLS players' REAL PRO partners would not make the cut in the REAL tourney and they would effectively be disqualified from the Pro-Am as a result - which we want to avoid.
2. When the REAL cut occurs (obviously after rounds 1 and 2 of the REAL event) we will know which REAL Pro's will be playing rounds 3 and 4. At that point, ALL PGLS players who have played at least one round of our PGA18 event will be paired with a REAL Pro (one of those who have made the REAL cut). PGLS players should be aware that there is a maximum number who can participate in the Pro-Am, and that number equates to the number of players who make the REAL cut. At Quail Hollow this week that number is 75. So be sure to play at least one PGA18 round EARLY to ensure your inclusion and avoid disappointment!!
3. Pairings are made at random. Any other method would be very time-consuming and 'messy' so we decided that random was the way to go - although that could change in future events.
4. I will post leaderboards at regular intervals so that you can see how you (and your partner) are performing. It might even encourage you to check how your partner is doing in the REAL event! Below is the current leaderboard. If you have played one round in PGA18 but haven't played Round 3 yet, open the Wells Fargo doc and see who your partner is...
I think that's about it. We'll see how it goes this week but, if it works well and everyone enjoys the format and extra challenge, it could become a regular weekly feature...
