Thanks for all the replies and advice. Guess we'll see what happens at tax time. I know the wife has ideas where a lot of money is going (house updates).

But, as I said, nothing will beat buying used hardware from 1 -2 generations ago if you want bang for the buck (and less trouble with the wife, for that matter ) And I thought the OP had mentioned that.
