Re: Stableford Points
take alook at the honours board 3 weeks ago week 171 a trickier setup at cactus creek Boxmaker finished on 68 points mid table 21st place, with this new system he'll finish on -1......in my eyes this will dishearten players....i understand you want to freshen this up but is this the right way?
Re: Stableford Points
We asked for the same thing on new tours, we wanted something different hence playing at a level of choice and playing a minimum of one round with another player, both were knocked back by admin without even a trial, so now we have a new tour but the same as the rest, which personally I have no interest in and most probably will not take part in, there was a poll on that too which we lost, as there is here which looks like is going to change to the new system. The tournies will either succeed or fail on these decisions time will tell.NIBNOB wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:18 am I cant believe your gonna change this already fair tourney....zero points for pars? and minus for bogies...players are gonna end up with minus scores here and will stop playing....at least just trail it for a few weeks and see

Re: Stableford Points
Mark,
That is why I suggested using the system mentioned but adding 3 points to each one so no one gets a minus score as you correctly stated, might be disheartening.
Les...change the record, polls are used to ascertain members opinions...some votes may go the way you hope, others don't which does not make them wrong. If more people bothered to vote who felt your way, who knows, the result might have been different and I think you'll find only one was knocked back without a trial, the other we know what happened.
Polls are used to help Mark make decisions based on how the members feel...if they don't vote, they shouldn't moan. At least he offers them...he could of course not bother to even consult people, it is his site after all!

The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.
Play well and enjoy your game everyone!

Re: Stableford Points
No Andy I wont change the record, I have a right to my opinion like anyone else whether you like it or not.Unless this site is taking away a members freedom of speech.
If the poll was directed at the players who have actually signed up to the tours it might have been, and if a certain moderator had remained neutral too.Affo wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2019 7:28 pm If more people bothered to vote who felt your way, who knows, the result might have been different
Andy both were knocked back before any trial or poll was mentioned, and the other we know what happened? I wish I had that crystal ball.Affo wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2019 7:28 pm I think you'll find only one was knocked back without a trial, the other we know what happened.
I have been on Marks sites for 10 years of which 8 years i was a moderator and we have had more polls in the past month than we had in previous years, and yes its Marks site but if members aren't getting a choice and enjoyment from the rules they will not play and look elsewhere.Affo wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2019 7:28 pm Polls are used to help Mark make decisions based on how the members feel...if they don't vote, they shouldn't moan. I was replying to NIBNOBS post basically saying the result of the poll will be final, no trials or discussions even if the voters play the event or not. Anyhow past caring now, good luck.

Re: Stableford Points
What's the verdict Mark? keeping as we were, changing the system to include minus points or add 3 so no one gets minuses?
Just wondering what your thoughts were.

Re: Stableford Points
I'd like to see something besides putting in mud all the time. Why does normal/soft or soft/soft always have to be 8, 9, or 10 stimp? How about some soft/soft or normal/soft with 11, 12, and 13 stimp once in a while.
Happy New Year all!

Re: Stableford Points
As per the result of the Poll, the change to the modified Stableford points system will be implemented from this Fridays Stableford 9.
The change will impact the number of points gained but it will affect everyone.
