extra pairs
hi as we are all spending a lot more time at home it would be a good idea to add another pairs event 4 rounds over 18 holes each? this would help with people talking to others and not being stuck alone. and if it was possible to let it run through thursday as well. start saturday and end friday?

Re: extra pairs
being realistic here, the count on the pairs 9 is not that great and a pairs 18
would even be lower than that. just don't see it happening. as for changing it for the PGA 18
that would just be a big loss.

Re: extra pairs
22 pairs played at least 1 rd last week in the pairs9 so dont see how you come to think its not popular. we have events that are very unpopular but they keep going. just thought at this time with people having to stay in doors it would help with people getting to chat with someone. i know this site is mainly for solo players now which is a shame. it cant be hard to do just add another event the same as pairs9 but make another one over 18 holes.

Re: extra pairs
was looking through the past in the pairs and it seems the numbers have always been around 20 pairs
give or take a few here and there. if there where new teams joining all the time it would be a different story
but as I said always in the low 20s and some of those folks will not be able to do a 72 hole tourney, verses a 36 holer.
as Alan posted maybe make the 36 hole event we have now take a shorter time period may be a better answer till we get the count up more.
but I sure don't see people running to get into this nor trying to find steady partners through the forums.
as for turning a very popular event like the PGA 18 into a pairs thing, it would be nothing more than throwing a good thing out.

Re: extra pairs
Personally I love the pair tourney. It gives me pleasure to play rounds with friends. I wouldn't mind having the Pair9 tourney be changed to Pair18. Can we vote on it?
If it goes left, its a hook. If it goes right, its a slice. If it goes straight, its a miracle!

Re: extra pairs
might be good to PM the folks who play the pairs now and find out if they would like to also do an 18 pairs
or maybe start a post in the pair up forum and ask there. a vote is not going to figure right as anyone can and will vote whether they play in the tourney or not. I myself would be good with an 18 hole pair up weekly, not sure if my partner would be but I will find out tomorrow when we play the tourney and post. this is one of my favs to but I just don't know if we can get enough involved to make it worth while.
