Hi Guys....as you know I am very new to this game, my problem is that when I download a course it goes to my c drive, but I have the game on my e drive...I am running out of space on my c drive very quickly as the course are very big files.....could use some help if anyone knows.....

I haven't done this, but one option to install or move the Steam directory is noted in this post:

EDIT: Another option may be to add another HDD or SSD to your system.

i myself run my OS on a 120gb ssd
everything else goes to the harddrive including my steam folder and all the game files.
when you installed steam did it ask you which drive you wanted it on?

OK Gents...Thx for your help, but I think I have got it sorted out....got a lot more space back on my C Drive now just by deleting the folder I made to store the courses in.....

It is not Windows itself that downloads files, but rather its applications like web browsers or other network clients. If you are specifically talking about downloading files from the Internet, your web browser has a setting for the default download location. You can even set it to ask you each time where you want to put a file that you are about to download.

You can also click on your downloads folder in File Explorer, and right click and choose properties. Then, looking at the location tab on the Downloads Properties control you will see, you can re-specify where your download folder location should be.

I find it best, with a limited SSD such as I run, to commit that only to run the Operating system and other small system files. All other data I specify to save to my HDD at E:/ or to my external expansion disk.

Well, this was posted in 2017 but anyway there are a lot of things that like to take up harddrive space even the stupid Recycle bin.

If you click on Right Mouse Click the recycle bin and click on properties you can do things such as specify where you want the recycle bin files stored and even the size of the storage area also when you delete something instead of letting it go to the recycle bin you can do a <SHIFT> + delete key this deletes it permanently so be careful but it prevents you from having to micro manage your recycle gin.

Finally you can currently get an external harddrive that simply runs off of USB port you can get a 5 tetra drive - yes 5 Tetras for about $140.00 from Amazon and a cool 3rd party case for it for about 12 bucks. Using a USB connection to store stuff takes a little bit more time to store stuff to it but you can slam a bunch of stuff on it that currently takes up a space on your computer drives such as pics youtube stuff etc. then it can free up all this space. Plus you can take this drive with you etc.

To make life easier (and have faster PC performance) everyone who is a gamer should have at least one 500 GB or one 1,000 GB "terabyte" Solid State Drive". Plenty of room for games and personal files. This drive should replace your HDD C:Drive.

I recommend Samsung 500 GB SSD because they are tops in performance and reliability. PLUS there is free software from Samsung (see link below) that will help you transfer your HDD to your new SSD. (Samsung EVO 860) is my model recommendation.
