Game Freezes

Post by Golferdee »

Just wondering what other users experiences are with game freezes.

I seem to get several of these each week where I have to quit/resume, sometimes can't even get back to the main menu, and of course often get lumbered with a penalty shot.

On other occasions the game will just drop out to the desktop but generally I can just go straight back to the game, although I have had the occasional one where it just drops out altogether.

Lately I have been using Advanced System Care to turn on Game Boost and free up RAM.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the game and appreciate all the great tournaments we have here.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Do you have 4Gb RAM by any chance? If you have I would recommend upgrading to at least 8Gb RAM if you can.

The same strange things happening here, along with while in shot ball freezes in mid-air or rolling on green it stops but the shots always finish and this is also happening to others I am playing with at the time, I thought it was my computer but others are also seeing the same stuff at the same time. like yesterday I was playing a 3som on voice chat I hit a drive it froze in mid-air I seen this and so did one of the other players yet the third player saw the shot as normal. I see this as just random weird happenings but it really makes me wonder when the bottom is going to fall out of this game.

Twice in the span of a few days I had the game glitch out on me and freeze after trying to hit a long-distance shot out of a fairway bunker. Since then I've avoided using anything longer than about a 7I in that situation, even when I'm far enough away from the pin to justify a longer club, and it hasn't happened again, but it sure feels like I'm having to limit my club selection to avoid a software bug.

the glitches have nothing to do with the club you are using
they are just glitches that happen whenever they want to all of us.
don't limit your clubs thinking you are solving an issue, cause they are just random glitches.

At least it's not just me, sounds like just glitches in the game that have never been fixed.

Still I love the game and the great tournaments we have here, so back out on the course guys :drinks:

I would guess I have had maybe 2 or 3 game freezes over the past year.I don't play multiplayer. If the game freezes up several times a week I'd say that is excessive.

the freezes I have been getting I will call them shot freezes
what happens is while the shot is in process the screen will freeze
and a few seconds later I will get the post screen and the shot has finished.
it does not disconnect just like drops the graphics process of the shot till it is completed
it has also happened to others I am playing with at the same time yet others may see the shot as normal.
just strange happenings. before I did this sharpening thing in the video setting I don't think I had this issue
so on my video card settings I am going to put them back to default and see what happens.
