BETA courses used in Tourney's

Post by WTFRU115 »

Not sure where to begin but, anyone of you admins out there that use a BETA course for tournament play you certainly have no imagination. Apparently, in the this weeks Skillz tourney, Aberdeen was used, well I made the mistake of entering with knowing which course would be used. There were two versions a BETA and the Version1. Since Beta's have been used in the past, I keep those in my game files. Well, Low and behold, I'm looking at a 610yd par 5 shot to the green on hole 4. Unless you all know the answer to getting there in one (which none of you can), How in the hell are we supposed to know exactly what course will be used in that particular tournament? Btw, AFFO, Smart ass comments will not be accepted with a pathetic apology shortly thereafter. Frustrated enough as it is with this sort of tournament play, but I'm sure you've noticed a drop in participation. I understand that you folks put these together on your own time and put a good effort in doing so. Please consider careful consideration when selecting a course for a tournament.

Just wondered whether you read the reply to your initial thread you started (link above)?

I haven't played it but Mark has and didn't encounter a 615 yard shot.

Each comp has a Course/Conditions page which allows you to download the correct course for the event.

Here's the link to this week's to help you (just click on the download course box):

tourney_ctp9_courses_api.php

Your welcome.
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

If a Beta is the only version of a course we have no choice but use it.

Why you attempted to use a beta version of a course knowing there is a newer version makes no sense. You should delete the beta version of Aberdeen Golf Club.

you rant and rave, but never apologise for your own mistakes eg. course not a beta.

No Beta course are among the list that setters are allowed to picked for any tornament so that its impossible for it to happen..It might even say beta on the cover shot but thats because the designer as not changes the cover flash screen. I have also played the skills Tour this week and can assure you there is no 610 screen. It would be good to get an appology from you
