The 2 balls discussion

Post by ledsvik »

So you get the +15% distance as a default yes?

I always love default things so I picked it....... but are there reasons why you should pick the other one?

I'm not the expert

Everyone should be aware that there is an option to change it for your player :meeting:

Your title might be a bit misleading. :drinks:

I think 2 balls are better than 1 - just my opinion (and the wife agrees). :joy:

Caliber v Avant ball. You're trading distance for accuracy.

The short game matters more when related to scoring low. More accuracy with the wedges equals lower scoring. That's the advantage.

Playing Tour Pro with the Caliber ball is like playing with Pro/Avant level miss penalties.

The guys that can play Tour Pro/Avant ball and score super low are just in another zone that I can't keep up with. Kudos to them. :good:

I use Caliber ball.....mainly to prevent the "round killer slider snap miss" i used to get alot.....I still get the odd slider but with caliber ball it usually stays playable......i do miss those super long drives the avants get but with cal you can max your drives and go about as far as avant 12-6.....it takes a bit of getting used to swapping from avant-cal but worth it imho

I really didn't mention any differences in Snap penalty tbh. I have a drive accuracy of around 40% and it really doesn't matter which ball I use. I also never have the big snap misses, they all are around the 6 marker but the effect is massive. Not sure whats wrong with my game.

About the slider snap: Did you ever try to change resolution and/or details (high instead of ultra etc.) That made big changes for my snap.

At one time I experimented with changing the ball mid-round, from one hole to the next or even one shot to the next. It will allow you to edit your player and change the ball, but it doesn't apply the change immediately; whatever you start a round with is what you're committed to for the duration of the round.

I play Avant and my PPC partner plays Caliber, which means that when it's alt-shot or greensomes, technically we're swapping out the ball every shot, something you would never do if you were playing one of these MOPs for real.
