Monarch Beach Golf Links

Post by Jugador »

Hey guys... :) This is a Robert Trent Jones Jr designed course in California. It's kind of a ritzy location ($400 green fees) surrounded by multi-million dollar homes. I think Jones did a great job on the design. It's a resort course, so I'd recommend a 3 wood off the tee to really appreciate his design talent. Let me know if you see anything messed up.

I included my 3 wood challenge recorded round. No more than a 3 wood off the tee or 5 wood from the fairway! :D

Have fun! (there are some screenies at PP site)

Hi Jugador,
Thanks for all your effort in providing a new course it looks very nice!

However, for me I am experiencing a lot of screen judder when putting, and lots of shimmering trees, plus jerky camera shots.
This is similar to what happened when I played the "Austin CC" course before the "Lite" version was released.

My Machine Spec is listed below and although not top spec I can play most courses without problems.
I got to hole 6 but sadly had to stop as it was becoming a bit unplayable.
Are you intending to release a lighter/lower graphics intensive version? I do hope so.

Thanks

Intel i5-8500 3.0Ghz with 16GB Ram
256GB SSD for Windows system
2 TB hard drive for games and files
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 2GB

Hi Jettgod...sorry to hear you're having issues. It's probably the "animations" that are giving you the stuttering. I think they use a lot of CPU. I have an I7 and a 1080 and it runs pretty smoothly for me. A couple of other fellows were having problems with funny-looking Palm trees, also. I think I got rid of the bad trees in the Final that I just posted.
I'll delete all the animations and houses and compile a "lite" version for you. :good:

Thanks Trevjor, I have now loaded the latest driver but the improvement is at best only marginal.

Hi Jugador,

Thanks for your response I suspect that you are right on track. I will look forward to the "lite" version in due course. I would also add the following comments if they provide any help.

From a numbers perspective I have downloaded 283 courses and the largest so far was Austin CC at 824.966.630 /Oak Quarry at 808.060.599 & Monarch Beach at 790.225.823..... all 3 are very difficult to play on my PC.

However, the Austin CC lite version at 480.191.623 has resolved the issues for that course.

Thanks for all the effort on the new course.

Hi Jettgod...here's a "lite" version. I took off all birds, people, and houses. This should help with the stuttering. I was also curious about your PC and compared it to mine at this site. https://www.gpucheck.com/gpu-benchmark-comparison. I'm not trying to be a butt or anything, but you might be interested to see how your PC compares to my (7 year old) PC. Hope this helps!
