Re: 2K25
Just played the demo - the back 9 at Scottsdale.............mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..................Can't say I thought wow this is really good - fairly average I thought. I don't know exactly what's included in the full deluxe version but I wasn't overly impressed. Pretty expensive too !

Re: 2K25
I decided I would send my post, about PGA Tour 2K25, to 2K support, including what I would like in a golf game and what I didn't like about their golf game. To my surprise they answered me the next day and said this:
Hey there Alan,
Agent Eduardo here, nice to meet you!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! We really appreciate hearing from players who are passionate about golf games and realism in gameplay. I understand your perspective on wanting a more focused experience that prioritizes course design, ball physics, and realistic mechanics over the extra presentation elements.
We'll be sure to pass your feedback along to the right team so they can take it into consideration. If you ever have more suggestions or thoughts, feel free to share—we’re always looking to improve the experience for our players.
Best regards,
2K Eduardo G.

Re: 2K25
I'm not sure what are the concerns about 2K25. So far, for me, physics are good, didn't found something that break the fun/immersion, like it does in PG, in almost every round. New EVO swing is stupidly easy to play on a gamepad, if you disable angled swings. If you keep it enabled, it should be a proper challenge. I currently play 3-click (4-click practically) on Master diff, and I struggle to score below +2 in back 9 in the demo. Even slight miss from perfect contact, ball is going off properly. Can't imagine Legendary. Maybe one day.
All I ask from a Golf game is to be challenging, with solid physics, and great career mode. Since I have first two boxes checked, I will wait to see did they improved career mode. In 2K23, every season is identical, and gets boring fast.
I mean, even Links2003 is great for me. Properly challenging on Elite level and 3-click. I edited all 3 AI rosters for realistic scores (Amateur will score between 73 and 76 per round, in overal, Semi-Pro around 69-72, and Pro from 64 to 68). I started new career as Amateur, as I struggle to score below 76 at Elite diff. But editing seasons requires some proper free time and dedication to test the courses and AI scores, and I'm afraid I don't have time or patience for that. So I ended waiting for 2K25.

Re: 2K25
I tried the 2K25 demo and it is a minor improvement over 2K23. The Evo swing doesn't require you to slam the right stick forward like 2K23 but even at Legend difficulty is as easy as the swing in EA Sports PGA Tour. I still think that the RTSM swing in PG is the best in any golf game released to date and the only one where you don't have a meter which is the way it should be. Having a meter is like being able to take a Trackman out on the course.
The course graphics are better in EA Sports but 2K25 has a course architect so there will be a lot more courses although from what I saw in 2K23, about 98% of them are not worth playing.
I have two friends who have the most expensive version of 2K25 on order so I'll be interested in hearing their comments and opinions. I saw the course graphics of VG3 for Trackman and their courses blow everything currently available away. It is a real shame that PG's development was stopped after Trackman bought Perfect Parallel and hired the Jones boys or we would be playing on courses like the ones offered on Trackman.

Re: 2K25
Try real time swing with a mouse in 2K25, works amazingly well, and it's very challenging even on Pro diff, especially if you keep angled swings enabled. And yes, you can disable the swing meter during the swing, as also bunch of other assists/options. 2K25 is very customizable, and that is one very big plus. You can choose how do you want to play (gamepad, mouse or 3-click with mouse or gamepad), and how do you want to play it (easy without sweat, of struggle to score below 76), the choice is yours. The fact that I'm seeing completely ridiculous scores here in PG tournaments, tells me that you guys are completely fine playing -8 at 9 hole round, chasing only to be better than others, completely ignoring the part called realism. That is my biggest concern when you all started yelling "2K25 demo sucks, PG is awesome as it is". Seriously? Golf game when you can score -16 in 18 hole round, without sweat, telling other that the other golf game(s) suck, without saying any valid argument, or even trying to play in challenging conditions, like real time mouse swing on master, or a simple 3-click where you need a proper reflexes, not a gamepad with a huge deadzone in the left or right stick. C'mon guys. But in the other hand, I also saw some incredible scores in Links 2003 online tournaments, and I struggle to score below 72. Yes yes, practice is a virtue, and I agree. But the fact that majority of golf gamers took gamepad analog stick swing as a reference, as the perfect method of virtual golf swing is just wrong on so many levels. Firstly, you can cheat the game by applying deadzones, secondly, bunch of gamepads have a deadzone in the center by default, so you'll be fine right of the bat. You simply can't replicate real golf swing via any PC peripheral. Real time mouse swing is the hardest method, and even there you can cheat (wooden boards, etc). For me, the best golf game currently on the market, is Golf+ for Meta Quest VR headsets. I play it on a daily basis, using golf club adapter for my Quest 2 hand controller, so it even feels like holding a real golf club. I started doing good scores only AFTER I learned to do a proper golf swing. Closing or opening the club face couple of degrees will have the same impact as in real life. Wrong swing have the biggest impact, you can miss the green by 100 meters, easily.slouis wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:49 pm I tried the 2K25 demo and it is a minor improvement over 2K23. All in all, all that talk about analog stick swing is the best swing method in various golf games, is just a gimmick, and a narrative, because you can play some incredible rounds using it. There is a reason why other swing methods exist.
P.S. VG3 for Trackman looks ridiculously good. Looks better than current gen PC golf games, by a mile.

Re: 2K25
It is a fallacy that people can improve their scores by using a straight edge when using RTSM. There is also another factor and that is tempo or ratio that determines the flight of your ball. You can use a straight edge but depending on how much your ratio is less than .25 it will promote a draw or pull. If it is more than .25 it will promote a fade or slice.
The proof is in the tournaments at PGLS. There are only one or two players using RTSM at Tour Pro because it is that difficult. If using a straight edge is so beneficial then more players would be using RTSM. In fact there are a handful that even use RTSM at Pro level. That is the level I play at.
99% of the players at Tour Pro difficulty use 3 click. 3 click in PG is obviously the easiest control method and if you compare it to other games that have clicking it is the slowest. The scores you can get using 3 click are absurd. I took a screenshot of one tournament where 9 of the top 10 used 3C. The score for the winner after 4 rounds was -54 including a 56 and 58 on two of the rounds. The other two rounds were 60 so I quess he was a little off those rounds. 10th place scored -32.
No need to cheat using 3C.
