To the guy who sets up the tournaments.

Just once, before I die, could you do this:

1. Same course, same conditions for every round. Especially when you use a new course that no one has played. The top ten will win anyway, so you're not giving anything away, just letting people play golf, and learn the course instead of trying to figure out how every little bounce will go on 4 different setups. I don't care if its hard/hard stimp 14 for all rounds, just leave it the same.

2. Stop putting pins 20 feet behind a bunker when you have hard greens. The top ten has figured out (hahaha) how to stop the ball on those conditions, but the rest of us are going to have 40 ft putt every time.

I will honor your #1 request this week with a caveat. There will be 2 sets of Tees used.

Your #2 request is up to where the designer has placed them. And I will not use the same pins in multiple rounds, as pins get changed every day on courses.

Why would anyone want the same effin' setup for a course for an entire tourney? It doesn't happen in real life/golf! If you want to learn a new course then play it solo a few times! Sheesh!

Just my take on #2 request; I doubt even the best players have found out how to stop a long iron over a bunker to a short pin on Hard 14.
But they are probably smart enough to use other strategies, like aiming either side of the bunker to get a shorter putt or even a chip. And I don´t thinks it is a human right to get easy birdie putts on every hole.

EDIT; I am not skilled enuough to always manage, but I try and usually end up in the bunker anyway

I agree with you. I DO try those strategies, however, its almost impossible to turn a shot in this game from the rough, and if you manage it, you can't stop the ball because of the spin. I played Bandon Trails course this morning, and tried that exact shot. I aimed a ball to the left of a greenside bunker, and it turned to the right just over the edge of the sand, hit the green, and even though it was spinning to the right it bounced left and rolled off a steep hill (that doesn't exist on the REAL course) 78 feet away in the rough. I don't think its a right to get easy birdie putts on every hole. Obviously my standing in tournaments verify that. I still play because I like the challenge, and the game.

This is a game, not real life. It it was, all of gimmicks that designers add to real courses wouldn't be there. Using the same course and conditions for a tournament once in a while would simply add a new experience, since it is rarely done for tournament in this game. And it would be a nice challenge to try to improve each round, instead of essentially starting over.

Just a suggestion if you have time on your hands, play a round with identical conditions with mulligans turned on and see how the ball behaves on the difficult shots. I myself have no time to do this but it may help and give you confidence.

I believe you missed the point. Just saying. I don't need help to play better. I'd just like to play a four round tournament with the same course and conditions. Don't tell me you would never want to do the same? PGA 18 is not how the PGA does it (yes I know Pebble Beach, but that is an exception), its the same course, same conditions for all rounds (yes I know it could rain and soften the greens), but 90% of the time it doesn't), but they have nothing like we have.
