The information we get from PG regarding all our tournies contains a lot of data, one of which is the device used.

Still very discouraging and getting worse. I love playing tournaments but I am now to the point where I only compare myself to what the other 3C players shoot and nothing else as there just is no chance to compete against the other swings especially the controller. I sure wish PP would find a fix for it but I know there is not much they can do.

I don't even do that anymore. I use tournaments as practice for one-on-one match play. It's sad that we old-timer PC users have to put-up with another oversight by developers who unknowingly opened Pandora's box by allowing so many different swing-types. Controller users will take exception to my comment as did edgers from the old days in Links and TW when "mouse movement" was introduced.

To those who take exception it's not your fault that you have a leg-up. The game was made to allow you to use those devices. I get it. I'm just not happy about it. Moot point really...

I love the game. I just wish everyone was a PC/3Clicker. :drinks:

PS My match play settings are "super tough". Those settings level the playing field. I did the same thing in Links, TW2008 and TW-Online.

Maybe if some of the clicker people, approached those that manage the site. They may be open to hosting a 3-Click only tournament or two each week, it never hurts to ask.

when I start a pga18 and I am -1 after 3 holes im feeling good. Then i look at the scores and see people shooting -12 I just want to give up and have cut down the amount I play. Only play for fun now. No chance of finishing in top 10.

Don't think the swing types will get their own events, will dilute the leaderboards too much, but you never know...

As for playing against like skilled people...how about if I start doing some sort of league system where using a certain event's rounds also go towards a league system where you are "playing" against the others in your Division which will be more likely at a similar scoring level? A bit like the PGLS 9 hole cups currently being run.

Would that increase interest if the higher echelons of the main leaderboard are out of reach?
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

I like the idea of a league system and I honestly believe it would increase interest. I would be happy to help organize something and help run the events and coordinate or whatever needed to be done. I have talked to you Andy about the 9 hole cup but still do not know where you take the information from or who gets invited. Maybe when you get the time we can talk about both these items of interest.

I would be very much Like to see a League system. I believe it could work with 3 groups with a top and bottom relegation and promotion. I could see a possibility for setting up a night of league games similar to the mid week challenge with have now, I would like to be involved in any discussion about this subject

I would also like to see a 3click (only) group/teams. Truth be told nothing has changed in terms of a sense of fair-play since golf sims went online back in the 90's.

3click groups/teams
controller groups/teams
mouse-movement groups/teams

A giant can of worms was opened when golf games were released for both console and PC. Preceded by mouse-movement which lured players into edging, using mice with zero axis adjustment etc. We all know rumors of 3click cheat software/hardware but I have yet to experience something fishy on the other end of the connection when I play a fellow 3clicker. We 3C's know this is a tough game and don't want it to be easier. Skill and chance are a major factor in our games.

IMHO the old days with Links set the bar so high for future golf games that no one has been able to match the equality we felt when playing another 3clicker.

Finally. When I see someone scrolling to aim or take too long to shoot, I know something is fishy. Too easy for us to know this because of so many years of "point and click" aiming. And shots fired within 15 seconds of each players turn - not 30 to 45 seconds. Someone creates a 3click group, me and another 20 to 40 players will be there in a heartbeat.
