Skillz - Closest-to-the-pin: Chip-in scoring corrected

Post by MiMiC »

Hi to all,

We are very pleased to announce that our Skillz competition, testing your ability to get closest to the pin from a variety of challenging location and distances, has undergone an overhaul in its scoring.

Our calls for the penalty which players unjustly suffered from holing-out when playing this event have now been heard, and the 'down-in-one' now gains a bonus of its own.

Players finding the hole on this 'one-and done' challenge will now gain 1000 points. Distances from the pin other than chipped-in gain a proportion of 500 points on a sliding scale. Players who miss the green incur a penalty of -250 points.

Our first outing with the new scoring will be a trip to the Sierra Madre Mountain Park area to play Hidden Canyon. Players will find the course receptive to start but will see the greens begin to firm up and present more of a challenge as they negotiate their rounds in variable wind conditions. The long and short game will be tested with a variety of plays from selected Challenge tee locations, including one location where simply making the green surface is the challenge in itself.

We hope this long-awaited change to scoring we had no control over ourselves will make our Skillz - CTP a less frustrating experience for all and the test of your mastery of the game and its swing types that it should be.

We hope you enjoy the event, and thank you as always for your support and interest in our tours and skill-based offerings,

Mike
