hi the only thing ive got against the points system is summed up by the last hazard event. i finished top overall and the 5th placed player got more points than me. one suggestion called be that points are given for each level leaderboard and separate points given for the overall leaderboard, just an ideaMiMiC wrote:Can I at this point add a nugget of information in to your Tour Pro experience? I am not a clicker, so nothing to add on that front, though I can't say I have noticed any difference in the admittedly infrequent testing I did to establish how much of a level playing field the swings represented.
You may be aware already, but if not, Tour Pro doesn't need to be the aiming lottery you are finding it to be. If you use the free camera to travel to your desired aim location, you can then drop the aim post in that view. As long as you do not use any other view button (f2 and f3) you can return to the main view and play the shot without losing that aim point.
Lets not even start to go with a critique of our points system. I think you know what my answer will be on that. Suffice to say, for someone as intensely competitive as you and many of our members are, the system we arrived at encourages play at higher levels rather than players keeping below the level their innate talents.

Re: 3Click Pro vs 3Click Tour Pro
The differential in points from 1st downwards is based on the PGA's award scales for real-life events. As it goes down the scale the differentials get smaller.
The top three, being all of different levels, all place at the top of their respective abilities and so consequently gain the proportionately-weighted top prize. If we introduced an additional prize for the overall, with the Tour Pro's normally topping the board each week, the gap between them and the lower abilities would widen even further.

@Mark
I appreciate the tip on the Tour Pro aiming but the simplicity of seeing the course in the overhead Cam, pointing and clicking has been how many of us became indoctrinated (Links Series) over the early years of PC Golf. I tried what you suggested and it's odd that it is even allowed, as Tour Pro is suppose to be as close to real-golf as it possibly can be on a computer. Forward aiming is the same method of aiming as was all the highest levels in previous popular golf games. The method you suggested should be IMHO removed from Tour Pro. I will start that conversation with the Devs at PP.

Re: 3Click Pro vs 3Click Tour Pro
I agree with you there Lee. I personally don't use any other camera, just that overhead to get distances and think they should not be allowed on TP (think I posted this in PP forums too), not interested in using any F no to get another view. Apart from F5 if I cannot see the golfer when in a bush or something.
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.
Play well and enjoy your game everyone!
btw, not a game for snowflakes.

Re: 3Click Pro vs 3Click Tour Pro
I don't use it, as it tends to take time, and I have become, through Links indoctrination, used to reading a line from a forward view.
Just mentioning it to make Tour Pro more accessible for those keen to have an apparently smoother click meter, for those that do.

As promised, I have kicked off the conversation at PP so Devs can follow how everyone feels about the F5 Key.Forward aiming is the same method of aiming as was all the highest levels in previous popular golf games. The method you suggested should be IMHO removed from Tour Pro. I will start that conversation with the Devs at PP.

As stated in the most recent post above. Thankfully someone has exposed another exploit. Kudos to him for doing so!

Tour Pro Aiming:
Once on the tee zoom out with the F3 once out there pick where ever you would like to aim by holding down the left click button. Keeping the left click button down hit F5 three times, this will put you back on the tee once there release the left click and you will be aiming exactly were you wanted.
F5 Key - Tour Pro Exploit Revealed
I aimed exactly the way the exploit was revealed to me/us. It works perfectly. Here is the video showing F3 pressed, aiming marker pressed and held. F5 key tapped 3 times. Cam returns to player and screen jumps to the direction of the aiming-pole after releasing F5. The Devs now have 100% proof of this F5 exploit. Not everyone used this exploit but I have no doubt some have been using it, and for a long time. Seeing is believing golfers. Try it yourself and you'll be astonished.
All credit goes to FreeBolt for revealing this exploit (courage). I used his instructions to the letter, created the video and now Mike and Andrew can make sure this F5 Key exploit is resolved.
