Ah I see, so I can record it in the default player as 17 and will that be taken into account when the ladders are worked out during the season?

Ladders do not use a handicap. The only official event at PGLS currently using handicap is the PG Classics. More events will follow in time, which utilize the handicap system.
We control player ability levels at which they play within PGLS, and they have been broadly calculated to place players in a group where they can challenge players of other levels on a fair basis.
