That is true mark but other tournies do ie as an ammy i cant play heavy hitters. Surely there can be one event where playing with others comes into play. As for playing with others causes stutter problems i totally disagree as every one know i have the most basic equipment there is and i find playing other ok. The leaderboards might be smaller but at least you will know the people on them unlike now.

I choose to play solo, it's a time thing and I use it to unwind and as one of the lower scoring players playing solo, that is just how I play. Why should I play multi just to satisfy that I am playing legitimately?

You can see from the videos I sometimes post how I play, playing online with me will not get you anything more than that. The events are recorded live, if they weren't you wouldn't see the score on the leaderboard. I have played with some people online, you can ask them if they think I Play the same online as off.

Golf is a social game if that's what you want....it is also a relaxing game for the soloist, and
not a solo quest to win at all costs
The leaderboards now show up as default at your Tier Terry so you are in effect competing against your own Tier level.

Should Amateur level players be contesting at the top end of the leaderboard is a question some would ask?? maybe, maybe not, really doesn't bother me. Surely if they shoot that low they should be Pro or Tour Pro?

Some more thoughts for the discussion.
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

I am an ammy because thats what the score average sets me at unlike some who play a level higher than their score average and mess up the handicap system. I in noway am trying to stop sole play. I have never said all events should be played with another member. If it stays as it is thats fine if thats what people want but it will be the end of the m&g and it will go the same way as wgtls. I do not question anyones honesty if they play solo or with others, that is down to the individual to question themselves. I dont set the level score average rules i just abide by them. All i can say is that allowing people to play above the level by choice is wrong. As for leaderboards i do only look at the level im at. the only one i look at overall is the open leaderboard but i dont know why because it never changes.I have never questioned your honesty Andy as i know and seen you play the same solo and with others.also with the work you put into this site you are engaged in it unlike a lot who just play solo and thats it.

Tiers and averages, very tough one to sort out, trust me, I am working on a better system but not a quick problem to sort fairly.

I understand the difficulties and appreciate the work you do on these matters but the system is unfair and not working at the moment. the to events it effects are the classic and leagues. when you get a pro in the classic with a handicap of +23 something is wrong. the leagues are match play so the handicaps should not be as high or low as they are. in my opinion the league matches should be non handicap.

In matchplay the handicap should be three quarters of the difference between the two players handicaps.

Bit of work but set up a tour for solo players only and use the current tours as multi player. PGA9, PGA 18, Stableford and PGLS Open tours only. or if possible have a leaderboard for solo players and another for multi, if API allows it of course.

I have a hunch that the multi player leaderboard would be small. I think (no proof) that the majority play solo..not sure if that could be found out just to see? I suppose I could just llok through the scores for an event, those timed at the same time would be multi players wouldn't they? I might just see...for science purposes of course :)

today - PGa9 only 4 scores out of 39 were timed at the same time...not definitive, but an idea...be back with a larger sample later

20 out of 94 rounds on Friday
12 out of 83 rounds on Saturday
16 out of 55 rounds on Sunday which is to be expected as a weekend
