Plenty of Professional sports team start a season knowing that a top 10 finish or to avoid relegation is the goal! They just strive to do the best they can and if they beat their goal, it's like winning to them.
The scores may be unrealistic, or even a joke but heyho, that's what we got.

Play well and enjoy your game everyone! :drinks:

btw, not a game for snowflakes.

The idiot loser that has been publicly calling people on this tour cheaters, even naming names in the PG lobby needs to stop.
I hope you are not talking about me. I never said anyone was cheating. I was commenting on the ridiculous scores that I have no chance of coming close to as Tour Pro. I hardly had a chance shooting as Pro. I'm sure there are cheaters in this game as in every game being played everywhere. Why would this be any different. The impossible scores I see make the game less appealing to me and less fun to play. It would be like telling a sports team before they get start their season that they aren't going to make it to the playoffs. Where is the incentive to play knowing you are not going to be anywhere near the leader board?
Although I think you are a bit over the top with your disdain at being promoted for good play, I was not talking about you regarding the "idiot loser" comment. The true "idiot loser" knows who he is and in my opinion, needs to leave PGLS. He once questioned my integrity for playing PGLS because of "all the cheaters" in the public forum. Really odd since this clown plays in almost every tourney, every week.

Remember Herm Edwards saying "You play to win the game"? When you have no chance, why play? I think gatekeeper had a good suggestion in another post. It was

"why not have everyone play PRO and incorporate a standard handicap system... that would allow anyone to win... net score wise anyhow... and have gross winners, etc... just like thousands of golf clubs around the world".

Gives everyone a better chance to win a tourney than they have now. Gives you a good feeling and you want to play.
If it goes left, its a hook. If it goes right, its a slice. If it goes straight, its a miracle!

I would heartily endorse that handicap idea with a true cap, except I think everyone should play tour pro. :)

Actually I would rather everyone play as Amateur. The game is much more fun at that level. I hate Tour Pro. I don't know if its just me or the game but I can have a 6 foot dead straight putt and if I miss the bottom snap by a margin so small you wouldn't know I missed it if you seen the swing, I miss the putt. Its unreal. In 18 holes I miss about 5 putts just from that little millimeter of snap. Not fun. Handicap, Amateur, Fun!!!

imho, if you make all play off one level, many would stop playing. More than if the format stayed the same.

Also if handicaps were forced. Easy setups lean heavily towards not so skilled players, hard setups lean heavily towards better skilled players...look at recent Classic events. To compete on -9 handicap, I would have had to shoot gross -18 every round to maybe get podium.

With all due respect Andy, no one would shed a tear if you missed a podium or two. LOL

Perculator wrote: Mon Apr 29, 2019 2:28 pm Regarding the Top 5 -

As I mentioned earlier I usually ignore the top 5 on the leaderboard. However, my playing partner in pairs, NibNob, is one of those I consider top 5, he is always up there close to the top. In addition to pairs we play 95% of the PGA 18 rounds online together. I can 100% attest to the fact that he is totally legit and all around fine player but an especially good putter. He is also a class act.

The idiot loser that has been publically calling people on this tour cheaters, even naming names in the PG lobby needs to stop. It gives PGLS a bad name and it is undeserved.

One hack's opinion,

Perc
NIBNOB is legit. Not that the rest aren't, its just that I've played NIBNOB in match play and that dude can play. Even after a few pints

I am trying to do a couple things here. Level out the playing field so everyone has a chance at the top of the leader board once in a while instead of the same couple players each week (and you have no chance), and make the game more fun knowing that if I miss a snap by a hair, my ball is still going to go close to where I am aiming.

I don't know about you but I find the game ridiculously frustrating in Tour Pro due to the slightest inaccuracy on the bottom snap costing me strokes. Slight misses mean my ball is going in the rough off the tee, missing the green on an approach shot (or leaving a long putt), or missing a putt no matter how short. Its taking all the FUN out of the game.
