Re: Course Updates?
Don't get me wrong. 32GB is great, if you need it. You don't to play this game. If you want to update something on your computer, I would start with a graphics card. I'm looking at a NVIDIA GTX 2070 Super right now. Little expensive. Around $500. Nice card though.
If it goes left, its a hook. If it goes right, its a slice. If it goes straight, its a miracle!

Re: Course Updates?
i keep all my pg courses in a separate folder and download the tourney courses for that week on a friday morning or transfer the pg course back to the game folder. after ive played the tourney i delete that course from the game folder. there are 2 reasons for this 1. i always have the up to date course 2. keeping the game folder with as few as courses as possible helps pc performance.

Re: Course Updates?
Yes indeed. The more courses you have in the PG "Courses" folder the more RAM usage, which will affect PC performance and cause some courses not to load at all. An example ...
I normally have every course loaded when starting PG and memory usage is ...
PG when first started ... RAM in use by "Perfect Golf.exe" is 1.127Gb
Loaded "Olympic Golf Course" for PGLS Open ... RAM in use by "Perfect Golf.exe" is 1.991Gb
Loaded "Orange County CC" for The Divisions after closing the above ... RAM in use by "Perfect Golf.exe" is 2.156Gb
Some of the large file size courses are likely to increase the RAM above these listed.
Loading just the stock courses or the required courses as Terry pointed out for the tournies does mean faster loading of the game and when first started RAM usage for me was 815Mb.

Re: Course Updates?
I do the same thing here. I have 2 hard drives. A SSD (C:) and a 300GB drive (D:). I run the game on the SSD and only keep stock courses on it. When I play tournaments I download the files and put them on the C: drive. When finished, I put them in the D: drive. I have over 300 courses so its really just a matter of moving them from one drive to the other.

Re: Course Updates?
I also found that when the number of courses being held on the HD was culled quite a bit I wasn't being kicked out to the PG web site when exiting the game.Mwh65 wrote: Thu Jan 09, 2020 10:06 am Yes indeed. Re: Course Updates?
So why the decision to use a 3dg this week on the continental tour? I struggled all the way with meter issues because of my low end machine.Mwh65 wrote: Tue Jan 07, 2020 8:12 amWe try to keep both the 3DG version and non-3DG version of a course because of issues with lag on the 3DG version. When we set tournies we actively try to avoid 3DG versions.But...I will assume that we need to hold latest versions of both 3DG and non-3DG versions of the same course?

Re: Course Updates?
Yes I can only apologise.
I only noticed that it was a 3DG course a few hours ago and by then it was a bit too late to change it.
I've checked all the remaining weeks and as far as I can see there are no more 3DG courses.
