I'm at least comforted it happens to other people. This one just came at a very bad time. Sucks we can't limit cancels to help with this. I can see how people would take advantage, but the solution is available, lol

Open a command prompt as administrator. Type this: sfc /scannow
Yes, there is a space between the c / and forward slash. This scans your system files and fixes them. If you run the scan and see "found errors" and fixed them all" you may see a difference.
sfc/ scannow should be a part of everyone's Windows system maintenance on a monthly basis.
After you have done it once, run it again. You should see the same message in the image below.

I forgot to mention. You have to have GEForce Experience installed in order to use the Shadow Play. Its free. Runs in the background seamlessly all the time.
