I looked for a video that may have shown the 3D sparkle and found one! Now I know I'm not crazy.

Watch the rough along the way during these shots and you'll see the sparkle effect. This video goes back to the beginning of 2019.

Be sure the video quality is 1080p.

Update on the above video:

I launched the game and chose the same course and used my usual settings. Evidently early on, as designers were diving into 3D versions, some of the 3DG may have been too long, too reflective etc. Just guessing, I'm not a designer.

Can the Random Game Generator be used to create a Solo 9 (or Solo 18) round, especially by someone who doesn't participate in ladders?

Are the probabilities of the values for the various game settings available anywhere?

If you use CAG ...

you can click on "Create a new game", select the course you want and then you can set all the conditions you want on the next page.

CAG is great if you know what course you want and what settings to use, but what about if I'd rather "roll the dice" with RGG?

RGG was designed for ladder matches only.

You can still randomly create say a PGLS 9 in RGG then 'Edit' it in CAG and change it to a 'Solo 9'.

It looks like Create A Game has been updated, about half of the game types have been eliminated.

3 ladders were removed from PGLS recently, PGLS 18, Match 18 and Alternate 9. They have not been played for a very long time. PGLS 9 and Match 9 are still running and I have no plans to remove them.

Thanks for clarifying. I must have caught it in between because yesterday Solo9 wasn't showing and PGLS9 would only allow you to create 18 holes, not either the front or back 9.
