Introducing our next PG Classic course starts 00.00 5/06/19 ends 23.59 17.06.19 Royal St Georges

WELCOME AND A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CLUB

Welcome to the Royal St. George's Golf Club. We hope that you will enjoy your visit.

Founded in 1887 and intended by its founder Dr William Purves to be a rival to St Andrew’s in the South of England, St George’s is consistently ranked amongst the leading courses in the world.

The Club occupies a unique place in the history of golf, for it was here in 1894, that the Open Championship was first played outside Scotland. In that year, the great J. H. Taylor was the winner but there have been thirteen other winners over the years, most recently Darren Clarke in 2011.

In addition to the Open Championship, the Club has hosted the British P.G.A. Championship on five occasions, the Walker Cup twice, a victorious Curtis Cup in 1988, and has been the venue for the British Amateur Championship on no less than thirteen occasions.

What the heck is up with that track (Troon)? I am not trying to be negative towards the course. I just found it awkward to play and found myself glad to be done with it lol

I've always enjoyed playing Troon on PG same also with Muirfield Village and other P2P courses. When I played Links I had all the pay courses. When I proposed PG Classic to Mark I specified that I wanted to include Pay courses. I was excited about playing them in a tour cituation. As for the Price, they cost less than a couple of Pints at the pub, a gallon of petrol, the price of a CD and much less than a DVD. I agree with Mark that they shouldnt be used in official Tours but this tour doesnt affect order of merrit points its just good fun. I also limit how often I included them to around 1 in 6 games so its no big deal, but the fact that over 40 players play the Pay courses covinces me it was the right decision.

Introducing PG classic course Start 00.00 03/07/19 ends 23.59 15/07/19 Carnoustie

For many people, Scotland is above all the home of golf. And if you ask golfers for a list of their top half-dozen courses in Scotland, then it's likely that Carnoustie will feature on most. Carnoustie is found on the coast, ten miles east of Dundee. The Championship Course at Carnoustie features every ten years or so on the rota of Open Championship venues, and also hosts a number of other major championships.
