Setting Pin Positions in Solo Play

Post by RobV »

I'm not sure if I ever asked this question here on the PP forums, but is it possible to set pin positions while playing solo round? When I design a course, I set multiple pin positions for each difficulty, Easy, Med, and Hard. From what I understand, the pin positions are randomly selected by the PG game engine, however, it seems like I am playing the same pin positions over and over.. every so often, I may see a different pin position, but it does seem like I am playing the same ones time and time again. Is it possible to set your pins prior to starting a solo game?

Rob,
I do not think you can do that while setting a solo round. Maybe can select pins by difficulty, but really only way to play various pins would be in practice mode.
Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks charlieb... well, it is definitely done in tournaments, I think using the PG API? Not sure.. Anyway, I just thought there might be a way to do it in solo.. but probably not.

That is correct. The PG API allows the tourney setters to select any pin position they wish per hole. This isn't available in Solo rounds in PG where you can only select Easy, Medium or Hard pins.

what if you used the "createAgame" tab to select pins, make active, and just play that as a solo round.

Yep that would work. You can select "Solo 9" or "Solo 18" for the game type.
